  • New Binders for Starting the School Year

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

My students are very proud of their new binders. They use them every day and take very good care of them. The students are now able to keep up with their learning. They are setting goals and reflecting on their work. When they see what they were able to write and accomplish is August compared to November, students are getting a great sense of pride and enjoyment. I see students realizing that they can always get better. I see a sense or pride and more effort in their learning. I cannot express my gratitude enough. My students are very appreciative and you have made a big difference in their school experience.”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Aymett

  • Organization with Binders

    Funded Sep 10, 2020

My students are using the binders to collect their daily work. They keep their work sorted and use this binder as a portfolio. They document their learning and keep up with their materials daily. They set goals and have the materials in the binder to show and keep evidence of their learning.

When the students first saw their binders their faces bloomed with joy. I wish I could describe the excitement in their faces when they opened the boxes. It was like a birthday party where everyone got a present.

Thank you so much for supporting our students.”

  • Plentiful Paper

    Funded Sep 30, 2024

I cannot express my gratitude for your donation. We opened a school without a sponsor and have no money in our checking account or even a Parent Teacher Organization to raise money. We are very grateful for your support as we begin this journey to create a strong set of individualized instructional materials for our students.”

  • Engage Students Using Whiteboards

    Funded Sep 7, 2020

My students enjoyed the whiteboards and were, so excited to have a new tool to learn. The whiteboards make learning, so much more engaging. The children sit in the floor and hold the whiteboards in their laps, and then they can show their work to me immediately.

It is wonderful for me to be able to easily check their learning too. I just say, " Show." Then, all of my students hold up their boards. I can clear up any confusion or learning challenges during this time. Students particularly enjoy knowing immediately if they are correct. Thank you so much for thinking of us!”

  • A Comfortable Place to Read

    Funded Nov 1, 2019

My students were so excited to get the carpet. They helped me put it down during recess and they couldn't wait to grab a book and lay down on the carpet.

The students are much more motivated to read and seem very comfortable on the carpet. They sit still and enjoy learning while seated. Before I know they had to get cold, and they would complain about their legs getting tired or sore. There have been no complaints since we have the carpet and student are excited to get seated for story time. This carpet has brought our classroom environment to a whole new level.”

  • Books to Read Before Bed

    Funded Aug 6, 2019

This book has has a huge impact on my classroom. The students are so excited to have a book to carry with them everywhere they go. The children are reading and discussing the book with their families and learning to enjoy books.

One parent told me at first it was really hard to get her son to read, but now he is enjoying reading. He goes to a quiet space in their home and reads more often now. These books have given the students an opportunity to develop the habits of excellent readers.

Not only are the children developing habits of good readers their fluency has grown tremendously. The students are no longer struggling to comprehend, because of the lack of fluency.

I cannot express my gratitude enough!”

  • Stability Balls

    Funded Jul 1, 2017

My students are taking turns using the balls for seats. Some days the students even share their ball with a friend. These ball have really made school more enjoyable for my students. At times I will look across the room and see a child bouncing vigorously as they are working. I love this, because the children are allowed to get their need for physical activity out as they learn.

When my students first saw they balls in the box they screamed with joy. On my way home from school I noticed a bright orange ball in my backseat as well. My son blew it up and brought it home for the night. Yes, we brought it back to school the next day. The point is the students love to wiggle, and these balls allow them to wiggle, bounce, and move around. Being a child should be fun and these balls bring more fun to our learning community.”

  • Balancing Balls for Student Seats

    Funded Feb 13, 2016

My students are elated to be given the opportunity to move as they learn. They use the balls as their seats and move them as they transition throughout the day. So, they sit on them in small group, at stations, and during seat work. In addition, they are given time in the day to do some exercises on their ball.

When the students saw the ball they went wild, really! So, we just stopped class and they helped me open the box. Next, they helped me blow up and pass out the balls. I heard, "This is awesome!" and one child said, "Can you believe somebody did this for us?"

My class is so appreciative. They asked me why somebody wanted to give them these balls, and I told them how one student said it would be so neat if you each had a ball seat. So, I applied for a class set on this website. One student said, "That's so cool!"

I cannot express my appreciation for your generosity. My students are more focuses and have more stamina to persevere throughout the day.”

  • Special Needs Students Need Books About Folktales

    Funded Oct 20, 2013

My students were so excited. They ask me how you knew we needed these books. They were so precious when they got the books. When we were reading them one day a student just began comparing the text to me and I was amazed. This is why we need high quality literature like these books.

We read everyday for twenty minutes to improve fluency and my students have really enjoyed these text. One thing Common Core promotes is learning in context and these text teach about American History in a very interesting way because they engage the students. Students are also drawn to these text because two of them are written from the perspective of the child. We use a lot of graphic organizers to organizer their ideas about the books.”

  • Special Needs Students, Literacy, and History

    Funded Nov 15, 2013

My students were so excited to see our new books. They said, "Wow, I can't believe it." They love to read and all we need are books. They are learning so much from the text, and it is awesome because there is so much to learn from them. Common Core promotes learning in context and these books help me teach that way.

We get used to the text by reading them in the afternoon for about twenty minutes everyday. Then we read and study the text in small group. We do a lot of different graphic organizers and this helps the students organize their ideas.

These text made learning the best for my class. You just can't beat teaching with exemplar text!”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Aymett

My class is about 60 percent Hispanic and I have four of nineteen that have severe special needs. They attend an inner city school with a population of 550. Most all students live in low income housing within one to two miles of the school. Many of their parents are incarcerated and they need all the help they can get.
