I teach at a K-8 that is incredibly diverse and economically challenged. I have students that are newcomers to the country, where this may be their first time in an academic setting, to students that are well versed in working hard but may not have the resources to be where they want to be academically. My 8th grade math students are learning what it feels like to be successful at math. The more they learn and understand, the more motivated they are to work at it and see the amazing things they are able to accomplish.
