I teach sixth grade at a low-income school and the students in my classroom so enjoy working in collaboration with each other. I build in frequent opportunities for students to share with one another and in these activities it becomes evident the student learning taking place as they engage in conversation on the topics we are studying in class. The ability to engage students in conversation is essential for their understanding of the complex topics they are studying. My students are focused on learning and have shown a dedication to increasing their proficiency levels, but have few resources available to them. They just need to have people believe in them and show them that they can accomplish anything they hope for. Utilizing the technology in this request will greatly impact student achievement, collaboration, and learning in the classroom. This project meets our goal to create a 21st Century vision which embraces the idea of educating today's students to be tomorrow's leaders.
