BARK for Books! Books and Reading = Knowledge
Funded Nov 7, 2023My students ask immediately upon entering the library, "Who won the BARK books?"
They are so excited about receiving new books to read! Classroom teachers have told me that students are excited about reading!
I am able to pick three to four BARK winners every day! They also get a bag for the books, a bookmark, a bracelet, and an encouraging note from me.
Thanks to generous donors, like yourselves, every student will win a BARK bag of books this year!

Giving Away a Book Each Day!

Thanks to you and your generosity, I was able to give every student a book of their own to keep and read this summer!!!
My assistant and I were able to finish sewing 600 book bags for my wonderful readers. On their last library visit of the school year, students were able to choose their very own new book, a bookmark and book bag for their summer literary experience!
It's been so wonderful giving out new books! It's my hope that all my students will read their own books this summer and come back to with some extra vocabulary words and a great excitement about a new school year. Thank you again for your generous support of my students and our library.

Funded Jul 29, 2022My students are so excited with the chance to learn and play!
The marble runs have been incredible! Students gather around to see the marbles go through the maze that their classmates have built!
My students have been on the most amazing camping trips with the camping center! They talk about seeing the stars and what they are going to fix for supper and toast marshmallows and groan when it's time to leave!

Make & Take Learning!
Funded Dec 2, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donations to "Make & Take Learning!" Students absolutely LOVE making their own planes and vehicles with the craft boxes, propellers and wheels! I have added Washi tape to decorate them and they are very creative with their designs. The ramps and balls were such a success! I added a wind-up rat to the center, which led to even more creative mazes with lots of twists and turns!

Traveling Centers
Funded Dec 1, 2020These new traveling centers are fantastic! My students were so excited! They love the opportunity to exercise their creativity!
This year has been such a challenge for students; wearing masks, not leaving the classroom, and no longer participating in group centers. I am so happy for the opportunity to give my students some hands-on learning. We did a fun project already with the Duplos, which are larger Legos for younger students. I handed each child a Duplo animal and they created an appropriate environment for them.
I can't thank you enough for helping out during a really challenging class year. It is so great to have people like you on our team.

Funded Mar 2, 2020Getting a grant for new books is so exciting! The books arrived in early March, and I was able to get some of them out to happy students before the pandemic closed us down. Now we are back to school with a lot of changes. New books still bring a thrill to our masked students! Having a book in hand is both familiar and a comfort to our students as they face many challenges this school year.
Getting up-to-date reading material into the hands and minds of young children is something I am passionate about. Thank you so much for your generous contribution to learning the love of literature!”

Funded Jan 7, 2020The students come to the library eager to read and ready to learn new things. These fabulous new books are already in the hands of students! I have waiting lists of students who want to read the latest Dog Man, Super Rabbit Boy and The Good Egg! The other new books were checked out the very day I put them on the shelves!
Reading is such a vitally important skill! Modern stories keep students interested and help them develop a true love of literature. With your help, these new books are available for students to read and enjoy!

Book Smart
Funded Aug 13, 2019My students were so excited when the books you purchased began arriving! The class that was in the library at the time helped me open the boxes, and they put sticky notes on the ones they wanted to check out first!
There is nothing better than seeing a child's face light up with excitement when they check out a new book! Thank you for spreading the joy of reading with my students!
It warms my heart to know that there are so many selfless people in this world.

Funded Aug 1, 2019My students absolutely LOVE to create, make, and illustrate their own stories and ideas. These art center materials are a blessing! The students are jumping with excitement!
I have a "makerspace" with art supplies, cardboard, tape, and all the new supplies to allow my students to express themselves.
Art and Learning allows my students to create in individual and original ways!
Students use art materials in amazingly innovative ways! Already I have seen them create rooms, animal beds, robots, and machinery!
Integrating art into the classroom will enrich and personalize learning for all students.
