  • Rhythm and Rhyming

    Funded Feb 14, 2025

My students are always excited when I introduce new materials.

I have been using the Rhyming Sounds Instant Learning Center for small groups lessons. The students are learning to match the cubes that rhyme with each other. Some students are able to complete the activity independently and some need support. This serves as an informal assessment to help me determine which students I need to reteach rhyming words.

The Splash Jr. games were a big hit. I also used these materials during small groups. The students were able to work on turn taking skills while reinforcing rhyming, alphabet, and beginning sound skills.

We appreciate your support of our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Massey

  • Making Measurement Fun

    Funded Apr 1, 2025

Thank you for supporting this project. I am very excited to receive new materials that I can use for teaching counting skills and measurement concepts to my students. They are more interested and motivated to learn when they are presented with hands on opportunities and are always eager to use new materials. Your kindness and generosity is truly appreciated.”

  • Including Everyone When We Play

    Funded Feb 10, 2025

Your generosity is greatly appreciated. I am so excited to receive the new materials for my classroom. They will help me teach my students how to accept all people even if they look or act different than they do. I am always looking for new and creative ways to teach my students about the diversity in the world. Thank you for your support.”

  • Building for the Future

    Funded Sep 12, 2024

My students were very curious when they saw the new blocks and asked several questions. I explained we now have different types of blocks to use in our block center. Some of the students were able to identify the brick blocks and tell me there were three holes. They also identified that shape of the wood blocks as a rectangle.

The students were very excited to use the blocks. Several students worked together to build a castle and sit inside. When other students joined them, they realized the castle needed to be bigger and got more blocks from the shelf.

We are fortunate to have the new blocks in our classroom. The students have been very creative in using the materials and working together.”

  • Learning in Living Color

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

The printer ink has allowed me to print and make colorful learning games for my students. My school does not provide color printers for teachers to use in their classrooms.

Vibrant colors are always attractive to my young students. I purchased a set alpahbet letter and sound recognition activities for each month. The activities are designed to be printed in color. I have been able to print them out so I can make the game for my students. This is will give them a fun and colorful activity to help them learn letters and letter sounds.

I have also been able to make classroom labels and signs for my classroom. This helps make my classroom a language rich classroom. My students understand that print has meaning and they begin to learn how to read the labels and signs.

    Your support is greatly appreciated.”

  • Our Books Need a New Home!

    Funded Sep 3, 2024

The new bookshelf in the library has made our library center look more child-friendly and inviting. A few of the students commneted they like the new shelf and one student asked how did I get the new shelf. I told the students people gave me money to buy a new shelf. This reinforeces that even young students pay attention to details and appreciate the materials we have in our classroom.

I have been able to display the books so the students are able to easliy see the book covers. This makes it easier for them to choose the book they would like to read. The shelf does not take up as much space as the previous one, so more students are able to go to the library area and enjoy reading books.”

  • Learning by Light

    Funded Aug 27, 2024

My students were very excited to begin using the bugs and sorting trays at the light table. I modeled the different ways to sort the bugs, by color and by type of bug, and then how to use the tray to make different groups of bugs.

I have also modeled how to use the counting and patterning trays with the students and added the buttons, dominoes, and gems for the students to use at the light table. They were able to transfer the skills they learned with the bugs to begin using the additional manipulatives.

The students are now able to independently sort, count and make patterns with all of the manipulatives in the trays. They make it a point to show me how they have made patterns, sorted and counted with the manipulatives when they are at the light table.”

  • Magical Carpet Ride

    Funded Sep 6, 2024

My students were very excited when I brought the new rug to the classroom. They stopped playing and watched me take the plastic off the rug and unroll it.

When the rug was finally laid out on the floor, some of the students just sat on it, talked about how pretty and colorful it was, and rubbed their fingers across the rug. They now have a comfortable place to sit when I am teaching and are more engaged in the lessons.

I have been able to assign designated spaces for the students to sit during large group lessons. The students are able to learn colors since there are different colors on the rug.

Our classroom is now very colorful and more inviting now that we have the new rug.”

  • Learning in Action

    Funded Nov 22, 2023

My students were very excited when I introduced the new materials. They were eager to play in centers everyday.

During our Tree study, the students were very creative with building different types of treehouses with the Imagingation Treehouse building materials.

The gear sets were very popular. Students were able to used the Turn and Learn Gears on the magnetic board. The Gizmos building set seemed to be the most popular and provided many different options for the students. We were also able to use the gears in our discovery center. Students who uusally played by themselves worked together with their classmates when using the gear sets.”

My children enjoy working with puzzles, manipulatives, and other hands on activities. I have several English Language Learners and students with an identified special need. They sometimes have trouble communicating and understanding because they do not understand the language or they do not have the vocabulary to communicate effectively. Our school is Pre-K through 5th grade. The students in grades 3-5 meet or exceed expected growth on end of grade tests. I want my students to experience the same success as they continue through school.
