Hands-on Stem Learning
Funded Jan 30, 2022When my students saw our boxes full of items from Donor's Choose, they were so excited. My students earn tickets by completing classwork and homework assignments.
They were so excited to see the new items that would be for sale in our class store. We had a class store on that very day. Students were thrilled to begin collecting the pins to add to their back packs. The snacks will come in handy when our class goes on our fieldtrip next week.
My students love our new multiplication games and STEM activities. They love the game-play option to practice multiplication facts. These materials are getting well used. Thanks Utah State School Board!”

Read, Write, and Wiggle
Funded Oct 15, 2019I want to thank the Davis Foundation for supplying my students with the items in this grant. My students love the green chairs that swivel and let them move while learning. The thick cushion on the seat is much more comfortable than our other hard classroom chairs. We love the books that we received about the craft of writing. These books give students a better understanding of the whole writing process. We have already had several days that we have been unable to go to recess outside. Our new Trouble game is the first thing that is chosen on these days.”

Flexible Seating for Collaborative Learning
Funded Nov 7, 2018My students love the new seats and the standing boards. The first day that we had the tractor stools and standing boards, it was like Christmas. Two day later we got the blue low back computer chairs. Everyone is excited to have a turn to try out each new option. We have had to keep a schedule so everyone can patiently wait for their turn to try each one. The excitement has not worn off after three weeks. There are still big smiles when they sit in the new seats. Our class is waiting to get a new two-person standing table to where the standing boards will be available to choose during the day.”

Hands-on Learning in Small Groups
Funded Oct 6, 2016We love our new materials! The wobble chairs and the bean bag chairs are probably the favorite. I was out on the day that the boxes first came. My students tried to talk the substitute teacher into opening them. They just couldn't wait! Everyone loves to sit on both the stools and the bean bags. We are taking turns using them now, but hope to add more seating options to our classroom soon so everyone will be in a seat that helps them learn and move.
The students are also excited about using knex to build with. They also enjoy playing the math games in the snap boxes. The snap boxes make keeping math games organized for kids to grab and play. These are materials that my students love to learn with. The pocket chart helps us all stay on schedule rotating to our center activities.
Thank you for helping us to make center time a great time to learn and move in our classroom. I love my students and want to provide them with the best learning opportunities. You all have helped do that.”
