Reading With an Organizer Teacher
Funded Dec 3, 2024Thank you so much for your kind contribution to my classroom. the smiles on my students face when I showed them what we received was priceless. The books that we received will allow us to recognize our emotions and give us something that we can relate to. This is a great source that teaches my students how to handle different different situations that may occur. The chapter books will give my students the opportunity to share their thoughts and predictions and we will be able to have mini "book clubs" where they discuss the characters, themes and other skills that have been taught throughout the school year.
The other supplies will help myself be more organized, which is a necessity for every teacher to be. These supplies will help me display my students' work and I will have work easily accessible for team planning throughout the school year.
Again, I just want to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for all of your support and kindness that you showed to myself and my students.”

Funded May 9, 2023Thank you again for donation to my classroom. These materials will allow me to be more creative with my classroom atmosphere as well as classroom projects. The materials that you donated will also help me become organized and help with less preparation time, which always seems to slip away super fast. The laminator will allow me to save certain templates and reuse with different groups of students instead of my having to find a printer and hope it is working to make more copies. I can not wait to learn and use the Cricut joy. This will allow my projects to be more engaging and really catch the attention of my students. It will also allow my classroom to be inviting to my students. Students love seeing their name through out the classroom along with their work that they completed.”

Funded Jan 9, 2023Thank you so much for purchasing these books for us to read. Through this reading, my class will be able to 'put themselves in someone else shoes' and learn about a time period that had a great impact on our world. I teach my students to always try to feel what the characters are feeling and by doing this you can experience what it is you are reading. When students do this, they retain information. This then leads to exploring independently to find out more information, if the topic is an interest to them.
Reading in my class looks comfortable and relaxed. I tell my students that reading should be the easiest thing that we do all day. If they are reading a book and the words are hard or they have no idea what it is that they are reading, then that book is not a good fit for them. I leveled my classroom library and I have a variety of different level books for the students to interact with.
All my students really love this book. They are very interested in this book series and they have experience with the author. For the handful of students that are not as comfortable reading, they are enjoying the books because we are reading them as a whole class and they see the other students excited about reading.
Again, thank you so much for purchasing these books for us!”

Learn to Let Go! This is the Key to Happiness
Funded Jul 16, 2021I want to start by thanking everyone for their generous donations. My students loved the way the classroom looked when they walked into the classroom for the first time. When they walked in, some of the students said, "Wow, it's so calm feeling in here." This really surprised me because that was exactly what I was hoping to accomplish with asking for the decorations that i requested.
I requested the materials that I did because I knew going into this school year was going to be different from all the others. Usually I create my own decorations but after coming back into the classroom after a pandemic I wanted my student to feel the calmness and safety that I hoped.
Throughout the school year, I hope to continue with this calm feeling in the classroom so that we can have a successful school year and that all my students can do their very best.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for all of your donations. We received the Lysol spray to keep those yucky cold germs away from us so that we can attend school everyday. Our Clorox wipes and tissues will also help keep us healthy. We do so much writing and reading at our desk and then there are some days we eat at our desk as well. So these disinfecting wipes will help us so much. The cases of paper you donated will allow us to be more creative in our writing and my students can be exposed to more material, considering we do not have text books or multiple copies of books. All the material that I expose my students to come from other resources and then I go and make copies of them. The school district only supplies us with so much paper. This is why I asked for a laminator. A laminator will allow me to organize and reuse my materials that I found and the students found interested in. Our brand new pencil sharpener will save my students so much time and allow them to stay focused on their writing and learning. Having a pencil sharpener that works and is fast will be so efficient for the classroom.
When I brought in all the supplies the students were like "what is all of this??" I told them what I did and we had a conversation about how the school system works and that people out there are always looking to help students have a great education. I overheard one of my students say, "Wow! There are nice people out in the world!" This statement warmed my heart but also made me sad to think that my students would think that there weren't good people out there.
Having these everyday products, that some would take advantage, allows my students and myself to stay healthy throughout the school year and allows our daily day by day function to take place smoothly.”

Funded Oct 4, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donation to my classroom. The resources that I asked for are wonderful tools that my students are using to learn during small group time. Containing a classroom with thirty students can be a difficult task during small group intervention time. With the resources that you provided for my 3rd grade classroom, it is a much easier task now! All of the Phonics games, such as "Phonics Build-a-Word", "Word Families", and "Word on the Street" allow three different leveled groups to work on phonics skills that they need additional help with, while at their academic level. My students quickly retained the rules to the game and they look forward to "playing" them during small group time. With these games, I spend very little time redirecting behavior problems and my students are building upon their skills.
When my students first say all of the resources, their faces lit up and I saw nothing but smiles. They were so thankful and eager to get their hands on everything. Once they began working with all the resources and building their skills up, they are now using that knowledge that they have gained in the games and they are using it during reading time.
One of the best parts of this whole experience was when one of my students asked my where her mother could go and get some of the games so that she could practice at home and become a stronger reader. Hearing these words from my student warmed my heart. I accomplished my goal, my students are enjoying learning while playing. They are eager to become a stronger reader and they want to do better. I could not have done this without the resources that you have given my students. I plan on using these resources for many years, class after class. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience!”

Strong Readers become Leaders
Funded Sep 18, 2014Thank you so much for purchasing our project. The books that we received are a wonderful resource for our classroom and it's because of you that we have them. When my third graders and myself went through all of the books, we were so excited. My students that are not so eager to read seemed to be very excited about exploring with these new books. My students and myself were so excited when the package finally arrived.
Everyday my third graders read in school for thirty minutes. Doing this everyday, we tend to run out of new fresh books for the students to read. With your support, we now have new books to read everyday. These books are very appealing to students and they are on their level. Another thing that is so wonderful about these books are that we can use them in other subjects, such as, science and social studies. One of my students pointed that out right away!
When we received the package, my students were so eager to open it and look through all the new books. It bought excitement and joy into our long day of learning and it was a wonderful way to end the school day. I am eager to use these books in multiple subject areas and I know my students are as well.
Words can not thank you enough for doing such a wonderful thing for my students. Thank you so much.”

Exploring the Country
Funded Mar 7, 2014My name is Christine Edelman and I teach in the Philadelphia School District, second grade. I can not thank you enough for purchasing our new U.S.A carpet. Having this new carpet in our classroom is exciting and it brightens up the room. Students are so excited to sit on during reading time.
With very little resources available to us these days, this carpets allows us to have fun during our Social Studies units as well. The week that we received our new carpet we began to explore the country. My students began to shout out names of the states that they have been to or recognized. This started a great conversation and sharing of their own personal experiences. Many of my students pointed out that they did not know that Pennsylvania had mountains going through them! A carpet may seem to be something very simple, but to my students and myself it was become apart of our daily learning. I try to make my classroom as homey as possible, creating the safe place that some of my students do not have any where else, this carpet helps me do this!
Thank you so much for giving this wonderful gift to us!”
