Thank you so much for your donation. My students are English language learners and were able to benefit from the books that were added to the library. Many of them use the decodable books to enhance their reading and others read books of their interest such as the sports books donated to them.
Student were able to blend words using letters sound recognition and practice reading fluency. My students were able to gain confidence in reading with these decodable books. Thank you so much for your donations.”

First, I would like to thank you for the bottom of my heart as well as the bottom of my little ones heart.
Your donation has come a long way. My students are immigrants and do not know how to read in English and many of them do not know how to even read in their native language due to lack of education. By building my classroom library students were able to borrow these decodable readers from our classroom library and practice the sounds they are learning in class. having books that meets them where they are while encouraging them to read and build a love for reading. Students were able to read without being frustrated.
Students use these books with their peers, during our academic intervention teaching block and borrowed them to read at home. Thank you so much!”

Thank you for donating a color printer to my class. Students had the opportunity to engage in various activites such as modified task that are illustrated to support their reading and meet the goal of the lesson.
Thanks to your donation, students have an interactive english language notebook with resources they can use. These resources include illustrated vocabulary words, translated sight words and more... these resources are used during our reading and writing block. One way it is utilized is when students are writing they can refer to their notebooks as a guide. In addition, when identifying character traits students can refered to the translated and illustrated word banks. I have only mentioned two ways they can use this but there are so many more and we can not thank you enough for all your support.”

Being a teacher today requires that we teach students the skills needed but at the same time become aware of the world around them. As a teacher my job was and continues to focus on teaching students about their identity and the identity of others. In addition, about the power in their voice to stand up for equality and justice.
In our classrooms students had the opportunity ti engage in conversations that lead to thinking of themselves as powerful individuals that can make the world a better place. Students enjoyed reading books that resemble themselves and allowed them to think about their place in the world. They asked me to order books for our library that are similar to the ones that we have received and embarked on our new learning.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Olmo

Students will use these books in the classroom. It will help them grow as readers and have a love for reading. Reading is essential and becoming long life learners require building their reading comprehension and reading stamina. These books will be used for independent reading time and at times for modeling skills. Students will be able to answer questions using text base evidence, make inferences and identify themes with these culturally responsive texts.
My students will develop reading comprehension by making connection to themselves and the outside world through these materials.
