My students come from various backgrounds but one thing that most of them have in common is that they are from a very low socioeconomic status home. The school is in Idaho and is considered a Title 1 school because of our 94% free and reduced lunch population we serve. Most of the students in our school do not have access to computers outside of the school building. The time that they spend using our school computer lab is crucial for them to build skills to have success in the world today. My class really enjoys taking advantage of the computer lab as often as possible. The only problem is saving my student's work. They are allowed to save it to a "community file" but other students from other classes erase and end up damaging my 3rd graders hard earned work. I have no control over this since I can not be in the computer lab at all times.
