As an occupational therapist working in a middle/high school, I have the opportunity to work with a variety of students with special needs/diagnoses. A number of my students have sensory processing difficulties, and therefore have trouble interacting and/or learning new information throughout the school day. By providing tailored sensory input in collaboration with all team members, we have seen our students grow and mature; demonstrating increased academic attainment, socialization skills, and increased integration within respective communities.
