  • A Sense of Pride Makes Learning Easier

    I can't thank you enough for your generosity! My students and I are extremely grateful. This is a big project and your donations have been instrumental in bringing pride to students who will be able to do their laundry at school and have a sense of pride in being self sufficient. The

    students are going to be very excited about this addition to our school . This will allow our students to feel confident that their PE clothes are washed and smelling good like other students. Thank you for your help in this mission!”

  • Social Emotional Learning

    Thank you so much for helping our school get the materials needed to be able to have small groups of students doing yoga and meditation to support social emotional learning. When students are feeling overwhelmed, sad, lonely, depressed or just need to calm down, they are sent over to do a 15 minute yoga/meditation routine to help them focus and feel better. It has been working wonderfully. The students have expressed that it is comforting to know they have a place to go to center themsleves and get them back in focus.

    This classroom project was brought to life by A Northern California family and 3 other donors.
The students at this school are 7th and 8th graders. They come from many different backgrounds and they have a lot of life experience at a young age. Our student body is made up of approximately 65% Latino and the rest are pretty evenly spread between Asian, Pacific Islander, Caucasian, and African American. These kids are full of energy and many have stressful lives because they are helping to provide for their families, whether that means working or taking care of siblings. There is a ton of culture in our students and they are proud of who they are and where they come from. The school is a very rich environment. We are in an inner city in California.

About my class
