My students live in the rural parts of central California. Our 7th through 12th grade school is a combination of a performance arts-based charter school and a regular, public high school. I teach at both. Students receiving free or reduced lunch total over 41% of the population of students. Approximately 84% of students are white, and 16% come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds.
