This project is for each student in the 5th grade to have a bag to carry their “Just Right” books (independent reading books) from their different classrooms to my ELA class. They carry so many items such as binders, notebooks, pencil boxes, tablets and often they find themselves having trouble carrying all their supplies from class to class. They often have things falling to the floor. Sometimes they will not bring their books with them because they say they couldn’t carry them, hence they are not reading in their spare time. These bags would allow them keep to carry their “Just Right” books securely instead of piling them on top of everything else from class to class or not even bringing their books to class. It will just make their life easier to manage when traveling throughout the day and foster their love of reading as well. "The More That You Read, The More Things You Will Know. The More That You Learn, The More Places You’ll Go." -Dr. Seuss. Every child reads differently and I want them to feel confident when choosing a book. Being able to watch my students foster the love of reading is just simply amazing. This project would allow my students to always bring their reading books to ALL their classes and not just mine so that they can continue to develop that love for reading and continue to read when they have spare time.
