My students attend a Title 1 elementary school in Texas. 82. 2 percent of our students are economically disadvantage and 77.7 percent are "at risk". They are typical eager to learn second graders who unfortunately are not often able to see life beyond their apartments or school walls. Their cultural experiences are limited and their communication skills are often subpar. They do embrace new opportunities and often rise to the level of expectations set by those around them.
