Funded Feb 1, 2013This week was the culminating activity of our inter-disciplinary, international energy project. We met as a whole group and presented our findings to our classmates in regards to sustainable energy sources. Four hundred students were involved in this event, offering a real-life learning experience. In addition to our American students we were lucky to include our French exchange students in the day as well.
Thank you all for providing funding for the purchase of solar ovens. We were able to use these pre-packaged solar oven kits to teach students about the benefits of solar energy worldwide (with specific focus on Africa). We compared the pre-made kits to those made by the AP Environmental Science students. Just so you know, the kits won by over ten degrees Celsius. The students were able to see how renewable and sustainable energy sources can change the lives of people in areas of the world without sufficient energy resources. Your funding allowed the students to experience first hand the power of the sun. Thank you again for your selfless donation.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Sullivan
