Summer Math Enrichment at Home
Funded Jun 19, 2017Thank you so much for funding this project which will allow Math enrichment to 4 of my students. This will hopefully prevent the Summer slide and they will begin second grade right where they need to be.I appreciate this and I am so grateful for your dedication to education.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Zeal and one other donor.Listening Center Needed To Support Reading Achievement
Funded Dec 4, 2015Thank you so much for donating the funds to make it possible to purchase the "Wireless Listening Center" for my first graders. This center has made it possible to have students take part in listening to reading independently, on a daily basis. This is a center that is a part of our "Daily Five" essentials to Literacy.
Before we received the wireless system, we had our old system which was very outdated and cumbersome. With wires crossing and head phones often not working, as you can imagine, it wasn't the independent center it was set up to be. But now, I am able to teach a small group, while other students work independently in other small groups. The Listening Center is now their favorite, and mine.
Listening to Reading is so important to a child's reading development, because it allows them to follow along as a narrator reads. From this, they hear and learn how to use expression in their reading, and it enriches their multi-sensory experiences with books.
Your contribution is not only impacting my class for years to come, but it also being shared with other first grade classes who do not have access to an up to date system.
Thank you again, from my students, myself, parents, and the school for helping to encourage our students to be life long learners and readers.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Valadez
Classroom Carpet For Classroom Community Building
Funded Sep 15, 2014Thank you so much for your generous donation . The rug that we were able to purchase may seem like a small item, but it has had a huge impact on my classroom. This rug has helped us build a sense of community by giving the class a common meeting area. It is a place where children love to sit and read to themselves or with others. It not only looks good in our class, it also serves as a teaching tool by incorporating the alphabet and colors.
For many years, I tried to find a way to obtain something as academically valuable as this rug;
because of the expense it was nearly impossible. This donation also lead to many discussions and lessons about generosity and helping others. This was a very valuable lesson to first graders and a tangible way for them to learn it.
Again, thank you so much. Not only will this class benefit from your donation, but many classes in the future as well.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Valadez
