Designing Dioramas that Represent Earth-Friendly Spaces

Funded Aug 4, 2023

My students love working on projects because they are able to express their creativity, while interacting with their classmates! They say that the best activities they have experienced in the classroom involve group work and project-making. They are very grateful and happy to be the recipients of your generous support by providing them with materials that they could use to create dioramas that represent earth-friendly spaces. The materials were also used to create prototypes of game controllers for people with disabililties; models of homeless shelters that have green spaces within; a carrier for items meant to be carried by a remotely controlled drone for an efficient product delivery system; and a prototype of an app designed to remotely control the temperature of water in a water bottle!

A few students have used the tools you provided– like the box cutters and glue guns– for the first time! It was anxiety-provoking to watch them use the sharp tools, but with clear guidelines and close monitoring and supervision, the students rose to the challenge and earned my trust when using these tools! I believe that being able to use tools to concretize their visions and realize their creativity is a skill that may come in handy one day in their adult lives. Being able to experience creating with tools; collaborating on meaningful projects; and being able to overcome obstacles as they create their projects are some of the most important lessons that my students have learned, thanks to your generosity!”

With gratitude,
