Words to Build a Future With!
Funded Dec 16, 2016Thank you so much for donating to my project. My students were so amazed when the boxs arrived and were opened. They couldn't believe their eyes when they saw all the wonderful supplies that they had been given. Their laughter and happy smiles made an otherwise routine day magical and exciting. They could hardly wait as I unwrapped each box and showed them the contents. They couldn't decide what do first and they moved from one activity to the next. The stamps seemed to be the activity that held their interest the longest, mostly because of the different colored inks available to them. Thank you again for putting smiles on their faces and joy in their hearts.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Cicman
Technology Can Open New Worlds!
Funded Jul 25, 2016My students have all been diagnosed with Autism. Due to this diagnosis they experience the world in different ways than you and I do. They often find themselves misunderstood or unable to deal with the world around them. The technology that you provided has helped enrich our classroom in many ways. It has allowed for the students to both work independently and also to work in small groups. It has given them the chance to expand upon their vocabulary and it has given them the opportunity to experience their world in different ways.
Thank you very much for funding my project Technology Can Open New Worlds! Your donations to this project are greatly appreciated by myself, the staff in our classroom and all of my students. It has given my students access to the world through the use of pictures, music and games. The students language development has increased and their ability to problem solve and navigate their surroundings has also been impacted in a positive way. Your donations have opened up my students imaginations and they now know that their is a whole world outside the four walls of our classroom.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Cicman
This classroom project was brought to life by the estate of Dorothea Lutz and 2 other donors.Listening Center
Funded Apr 4, 2016This project has really had a big impact on my classroom and students. It has allowed my students to expand their vocabulary in different ways. They have begun to identify sight words, identify the concept of beginning and ending sounds and also it has allowed them to begin to understand the concept of literary elements (author, illustrator, front of the book, back of the book and title). The project has also helped the students to understand how to follow along when a story is read to them or when they listen to it.
My lowest level students have begun to become more interested in stories due to their love of dogs and dinosaurs. They have also begun to understand that having an imagination is an important and wonderful to possess and to build on. The listening center is one of the most requested center project that we have. Thank you so much for supplying us with this awesome resource.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Cicman
