• Celebrating Lunar New Year: Year of the Snake!

  We're still buzzing from the incredible Lunar New Year celebration, and it's all thanks to your amazing support. We just wanted to send a huge, heartfelt thank you for your generosity towards our project. You helped us bring all the vibrant energy of Flushing's Lunar New Year right into our classroom – it was truly special for our students and their families during this Year of the Snake.

  Lunar New Year means so much to our community, and you helped us create our very own little version of that amazing, colorful festival that takes over the streets. Your contribution was such a big part of teaching our kids about the rich traditions and what this time of year really means.

  Our family events were a blast! We had everyone making red envelopes and, thanks to you, each child received their very own adorable snake plush! They were such a hit and a wonderful way to celebrate the Year of the Snake. We also snapped happy photos with the festive decorations you helped us get. It wasn't just fun; it really helped everyone connect with the traditions and understand the beauty of our Lunar New Year heritage.

  Honestly, thank you doesn't feel like enough. Your support didn't just make our project happen; it made it even better than we could have hoped, and those snuggly snakes are something everyone will remember. • Cool Snacks, Healthy Kids: Replacing Our Classroom Fridge

  I wanted to send a heartfelt thank you again for your incredible support in funding our new classroom refrigerator! My very first DonorsChoose project was actually for a fridge, and that simple addition made such a huge difference in our classroom.

  When our old fridge broke down, we realized just how much we'd come to rely on it. Suddenly, we couldn't keep milk cold, store fresh fruit, or have those healthy snacks readily available. It really threw us for a loop! Thankfully, your generous donation helped us get back on track quickly.

  Your support reminded us that even seemingly small things can have a massive impact. We're so grateful for your help in getting our classroom back to normal, and for reminding us not to take those everyday conveniences for granted.

• Tales and Tunes: the Magic of Tonies for Our Classroom

  The Tonies have truly made a significant and positive impact on my students, particularly in their language development and confidence.

  While there was a brief learning curve as we integrated the Tonies into our classroom routine, several students have embraced the Toniebox with enthusiasm. It's been inspiring to witness their engagement with the stories and songs. From a teacher's perspective, it's difficult to resist the desire to expand our collection and offer even more diverse listening experiences.

  The most remarkable impact has been on my language learning students. The increased exposure to English through the Toniebox has led to a noticeable improvement in their speaking skills. They are demonstrating greater confidence in using English, and I believe this is directly related to the consistent and engaging listening practice they receive. It's truly amazing to see how much language they are absorbing and how it's translating into increased fluency and self-assurance.

  The Tonies project has provided a fun and interactive way for my students to develop their language skills, and your support has been instrumental in making this possible. Thank you for investing in their future and helping them build confidence in their English speaking abilities.”

• The Winds of Winter is Coming: Protecting Our Young Explorers

  We are deeply grateful for your support in our goal to gift of hats, scarves, and gloves to our students. Your support brought warmth and smiles during a the start of winter. While we're in the last days of Fall, we've seen some unprecedented chilly temperatures that may foreshadow a harsh winter of cold winds and freezing temperatures. But because of your support, our kids have what they need to combat the wintery weather.

  They proudly wear their new wolf hats, scarves, and gloves, staying warm and stylish. It is wonderful to see them confidently facing the cold, a testament to both their resilience and your kindness.

  Seeing our students wearing their wolf hats has been a heartwarming reminder of the power of giving. • Numberblocks Math Mania: Pre-K Adventures with Mathematics!

  Thank you so much for your generosity in supporting our Numberblocks project! Your contribution has had a meaningful impact on our students and their families, and we are so excited to share the results with you.

  Recently, we hosted a family workshop focused on balancing screen time and discovering high-quality programs for children. During the workshop, we introduced parents to the educational show Numberblocks and the accompanying manipulatives that allow students to practice what they learn from the show in a hands-on way. It was amazing to see parents and children working together, learning, and exploring math concepts through such a fun and engaging resource.

  Thanks to the Numberblocks manipulatives, our students can now build their understanding of numbers in a tangible way. They've been using these tools to explore concepts like addition, subtraction, and number recognition, reinforcing what they've seen on the show. The combination of the visual storytelling of Numberblocks and the hands-on practice with the manipulatives has created a powerful learning experience for our students, building both their math skills and their confidence.

  The parents were equally thrilled to discover this wonderful resource and left the workshop feeling empowered to support their children's learning at home. Because of your support, we were able to show families that screen time, when used thoughtfully, can be an enriching and valuable part of a child's education.

• Breathing Easy: Clean Air for Creative and Cool Minds

  Thank you so much for supporting our project, Breathing Easy: Clean Air for Creative and Cool Minds! Thanks to your generosity, we now have a Dyson air purifier that is quietly making a big difference in our Pre-K classroom every day.

  The air purifier is always working in the background, keeping our classroom air fresh and clean while our students are busy learning, playing, and creating. Clean air is especially important as we head into flu and cold season, giving our students and teachers an extra layer of protection. On top of that, with the unpredictability of our classroom temperature, the Dyson purifier has been incredibly helpful. We can easily adjust it to cool things down when the room gets too warm or warm it up on those chillier days, keeping everyone comfortable.

• Spotless Scholars: a Clean Space for Bright Minds!

  Thank you so much for supporting our project, Spotless Scholars: A Clean Space for Bright Minds! Your contribution has truly made a difference in our Pre-K classroom, and I wanted to take a moment to share the impact it's had on our young learners.

  With the addition of a powerful cordless Dyson vacuum, keeping our classroom floors clean has become so much easier and more efficient. In Pre-K, a busy, fun-filled day often means messy floors, and our students' learning thrives when they can explore freely—whether they're playing with leaves, investigating sand, or examining soil. Messy floors used to mean waiting until the end of the day for a deep clean by our custodians. Now, thanks to the new vacuum, those big messes are handled instantly, ensuring that our students always have a clean and safe space to learn, play, and even rest.

  Our students do a lot of their learning on the floor, from reading and playing to group activities and naptime, so having a clean environment is crucial. Thanks to your support, our carpets are spotless, and our classroom feels more welcoming and comfortable for our students. The Dyson vacuum has not only kept our space tidy but also inspired our students to take pride in their surroundings. Watching the adults care for the classroom has motivated them to pitch in—they're now eager to use our hand vacuum, dustpans, and brooms to help keep our learning space pristine. This project has fostered a sense of responsibility and teamwork among our little learners.
