Complete Our Meeting Area!
Funded Sep 21, 2023My students were overjoyed when their new carpet laid out at our meeting area. Now, whenever we meet for collaborative beginnings, lessons, collaborative endings, they're so much more comfortable. Our classroom library is also right next to the rug, students are able to find a comfy spot to change out their books as well as a cozier spot to read during reading workshop. You have helped us create a more welcoming space for our students!
Thank you again for your generosity in contributing to our classroom. We are all so grateful!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 7 other donors.Calming Corner
Funded Nov 29, 2022The materials we were able to purchase for our calming corner has helped many students on numerous occasions to cool down whenever they were upset, feeling sad or anxious.
Thank you for helping us create a quiet place with many tools for students where they were able to regulate their feeling and emotions so they can continue to learn!
Students really enjoy using the sensory bottles, finger path breathing boards, positive affirmations poster, as well as the Find Your Calm: A Mindful Approach To Relieve Anxiety and Grow Your Bravery have all been beneficial towards the emotional health of our class.
Thank you again!!!”

This classroom project was brought to life by an Anonymous Classroom Supporter and 3 other donors.Ready to Learn!
Funded Nov 23, 2022Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for donating to our project! These basic supplies really enabled us to be successful every day. Students use their play doh after lunch to transition to an afternoon of learning. Students were able to use their play doh to practice their sight words. We used the Finger Focus Highlighter for students that needed a tool to help them focus on one word at a time as they read. The gel ink pens were a great tool for students to edit and revise when they were ready to publish a writing piece. During small group reading, so many of our students enjoyed the sight words game! Without your support we wouldn't have been able to purchase these items. Thank you again!”

The Handy Dandy Writing Process Folder!
Funded Sep 30, 2022The writing folders funded by your donation have been a great resource for all our little writers! Thank you for your generosity and support of our students and classroom!
My students have been using their writing process folders every day during our writing block. The folders have been a great resource for organizing their writing pieces. Many students also use their folders to help them spell tricky words. Additionally, the folders provide a great visual for students as they move throughout the writing process. Thank you once again for all your support!”

Every week students get to exchange books , they're usually already excited to do this but with the additional variety of books they are even more interested!
During reading workshop students have been studying characters' relationships, how characters respond to challenges, as well as identify lessons learned. Students have been studying characters from books like Flat Stanley, Pedro, Katie Woo, as well as Julian's World all thanks to your contribution!

Partitions To Ensure Safer Work Spaces for Students
Funded Nov 11, 2021We are ever so grateful for your generosity and support towards our classroom this school year. Because of your donation, we were able to purchase partitions and we were able to push desks together, utilizing our classroom space more efficiently. Students are now able to turn and talk and interact with their peers throughout the school day to ask questions and to share their thinking.
During breakfast and lunch as well as classroom celebrations, because of your donation, students are able to eat more safely and securely behind their own spaces. It brought us closer to "normal" since the start of the pandemic. The children of class 2-201 thanks you!”

Mrs. Young
