Not a day goes by that we don't use technology in some form in our classroom. I usually like to start the day off by having the students in my classroom listen to student news. This includes things that are happening in the world around them. I especially use this as a way to teach about everyday heroes.
In addition to that, our new reading curriculum and math curriculum use videos to help teach different skills. Without being able to hear what the people on the videos are saying, my students are at a disadvantage.
For example, in reading, I use videos to introduce the unit. These help the student focus in on what essential question they will be working on in the upcoming month. I also like to use videos such as "Brainpop" to review skills. During our math instruction, I use videos to review concepts or music to help them learn a skill.
