  • Robots, Readers, and Rewards: Sparking Joy in our Book Club!

    Funded Feb 13, 2025

Thanks to your incredible support, my students have been given the joy of continuing Roz's adventure in The Wild Robot Escapes! Their excitement when they saw we had received their very own copy of the book was priceless. With each turn of the page, they will not only enjoy the story but also develop essential reading skills. Through group discussions, written reflections, and interactive activities, students are learning to make inferences, analyze character growth, and identify themes such as survival, friendship, and problem-solving. The colorful pens, folders, and bookmarks are helping them stay organized and engaged, while the fun robot stickers are serving as motivating rewards along the way.

Reading in our classroom is an active and collaborative experience. Students eagerly participate in read-alouds, partner reading, and independent reading time, using their materials to jot down thoughts, predictions, and favorite moments. One student, who was initially hesitant about chapter books, now confidently shares insights about Roz's journey and even leads small group discussions. Another student, inspired by the book's themes, has started writing his own robot adventure story! Seeing their confidence and love for reading grow has been truly rewarding.

Your generosity has made a lasting impact on my students' literacy journey. They feel like real readers—because they are! Thank you for believing in the power of books and for giving my students this wonderful opportunity to learn, imagine, and explore through reading. We are so grateful for you!”

  • Math Masters: Multiplication and Geometry for Growing Minds

    Funded Mar 26, 2025

Thank you and thank you again!

A love of math grows when students have the right tools to explore and understand it. Your support has given my third graders what they need: hands-on geometry tools and engaging resources to master multiplication.

In the past, I didn’t realize how much of a difference these tools could make in building math confidence. But after years of teaching, I have seen students struggle without them. Now, thanks to you, my students can visualize shapes, angles, and multiplication patterns in a way that makes learning exciting and meaningful.

My goal is to provide every child with the resources to succeed, and you have helped make that possible. Thank you for your generosity and for investing in the future of my students!”

    With gratitude,

  • Oh, All the Places We'll Go from the Classroom

    Funded May 4, 2022

It is with great appreciation from my 3rd grade scholars and I that we thank you for your generosity to our classroom! Many resources are needed to to bring learning to life in the classroom. With your contributions, we will be able to utilize the supplies we purchased to to support our new CKLA reading program to connect the world with the new learning in our classroom. The themes of Ancient Roman Civilizations, Astronomy, Ecology, Native Americans and the Human Body will be studied with the activities created by fellow teachers through Teachers Pay Teachers and the books we purchased. I look forward to their excitement as we explore these new concepts.

Please know that it through your kindness and generosity that our scholars will thrive in the areas of science, history and beyond!”

  • The Classroom World in Color!

    Funded Sep 2, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom. With our new classroom color printer, students are able to print their digitally created projects in vibrant colors and display their creations in our class. It is these little details that help create a student centered environment that children are able to thrive in.

For visual learners, new concepts and learning is anchored in color and images. Through your generosity, our classroom can come alive with learning and connections made by our scholars!”

  • Cultivating a Love of Reading with Our 1st Chapter Book

    Funded Sep 27, 2021

It is with great appreciation that I write this to thank you for your generous donations to our third grade scholars. With the funds, we were able to purchase a class set of chapter books with characters that represent their cultural identify and are relatable. Each student was able to interact and share with their families. To develop the love of reading, it is important to share and discuss our thoughts and reactions to the characters in the story. We held daily class discussions and engaged in learning activities to peak their interest in the story. Students were also able to use their close reading tools to annotate and highlight the text. (Color makes everything better to third graders!)

In addition, we learned about the importance of having a growth mindset when we approach challenges in life. My students were motivated by the bulletin board set we were able to purchase and referenced it when writing their own motivational phrases. These phrases were written by the students to represent words that encourage them in times they may get discouraged and were posted as daily reminders.

Without your support, these learning experiences would not have been possible. Thank you for taking the time to show interest in impacting young minds in such a positive way.”

  • Full STEAM Ahead: Art Sketch Books & Supplies

    Funded May 24, 2021

Thank you SO much for your generous donations to our third grade scholars!! They were SO happy to receive the new chapter books, art sketchbooks, spiral bound notebooks and dry erase boards!!

Our art sketchbooks were received with big smiles!! Students have already begun creating an art portfolio! For 9/11, we discussed our amazing heroes who helped others and students drew the Statue of Liberty with sharpie and black crayons. They then followed with a water color resistance wash. They came out so well!!

In math, we hit the ground running by using our new spiral bound math journals to take notes on multiplication!! Students are able to use their notes on tests as they learn new third grade math concepts! They love that they wrote down what they learned and use it to remember important details! We also use our white boards to practice math!

Although we haven't started our chapter book, The One and only Bob, yet... they are building their reading skills daily to get ready to have class discussions about their soon to be favorite character!

We appreciate all you have done to make learning fun and make our dream a reality!! You have made a difference in engaging the 3rd grade scholars of room 31!!”

Unfortunately, my students ONLY have an anthology provided by our school district to support their language arts instruction. I would like to take this learning a step further and provide each student with their own copy of a core literature selection that will help them develop a LOVE for reading. I just began a new school year with a class of 32 fourth grade students who come from a challenging socio-economic background in Southern California. In addition, my students are learning to acquire English as a second language while still being accountable to grade level standards. What better way to develop their love of reading than guiding them through the discovery of the world of award winning literature? In the process, my students will be able to connect with the language of the book that will spark an emotional connection to reading. Meanwhile, increasing their reading comprehension. Win-Win!!
