Books and Bean Bags Make Reading FUN!!!
Funded Dec 31, 2016Thank you so much for all your generous donations especially during the holiday season. I can not believe my classroom project of Books and Bean Bags got funded. My students returned from Winter Break to see the beautiful blue bean bags in the room and the bin of new non-fiction books for them to read. They immediately sat down and began reading.
Sitting in the bean bags and reading independently has really motivated my students to read more. They are enjoying all the different topics that the non fiction books provide and the themes of these books hit all their interest levels. The bean bags make the room more inviting and overall, these last few days back have been a success! Thanks again to all of you and your generosity.”

With One Easel We Can... Read, Write and Share Together
Funded Sep 14, 2016Dear Donors,
First, I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your generous donations.
My materials came quickly and they have been in use since the day they arrived! My students love the new easel, mini individual whiteboard, new markers and erasers. They ask to use them in math class everyday and we have.
We are currently learning to round numbers and are learning to estimate to the nearest ten and hundred. We are using our estimations to solve two and three digit math computation problems and they are learning to use estimating numbers to answer more complex word problems.
When my students saw these new materials, they were excited to see a brand new easel and whiteboards and have been more engaged in the learning process.
We will continue to use these materials throughout the entire school year. I have not only used them for math class but, for language arts as well. Students are practicing their spelling words, writing new and unfamiliar words. They are practicing writing their ideas down before they begin writing in their journals.
Again, I would like to thank all of you from all of my students and myself for these wonderful and generous donations!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Gries
