  • The “Earth” Without “Art” Is Just “Eh”

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

I want to thank you again for your donation to my art room. My students love using the paint dots and kwik stixs. One project that sticks out the most is a wings mural we created.

I taught my students that set can create community and we are a family of individuals that together contribute to a creative whole. In art, we celebrate individuality, confidence and cooperation. We learn together, try together, and create together. We discussed what a mural is and studied examples.

I explained to my students that they will be apart of making a mural that will have a message. I explained that art can communicate a message and our message in this piece is it represents our promise this year to let our imagination soar.

Each student created their own feather that started with just one paint dot. I also asked them to see where that one dot will take them this year! We put all the feathers together to create rainbow wings that are now permanently displayed in our school.

We will be working on our next mural soon using the paint stix where they will create a winter wonderland!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jaime Schy

  • Do what you want to do, in living color!

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

Thank you so very much for donating to my project and fulfilling it! The materials have been so helpful and fun to use.

The paint dots are so brilliant and vivid, my students love using them to create bright and fun works of art. They also love using the Kwik sticks to create mess free paintings. We used them recently to create cakes and they came out so realistic.

Thank you again for your kindness, we certainly have made lots of memories already and it was incredibly generous of you to donate to my students.”

    With gratitude,

  • Ink You Stink

    Funded Oct 2, 2021

Please let me start off by saying thank you again for supporting my project and your generous donation. Your contribution helped play a big role in my lesson planning this first 6 months of the school year.

I was able to print so many colorful images for my students to view of famous artist and artwork. I was also able to decorate my classroom with colorful images and inspirational sayings. The most exciting thing I have been able to do is print photos of my students creating their art and displaying that as well.

This would not have been possible without your help and I'm so thankful for your donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jaime Schy

  • High Quality Beats

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

Thank you SO MUCH for your generous donation for my wireless speaker. Donors like you help keep teachers like me feeling thankful and supported.

Because of you donation, I have been able to play music for my students during art and create other activities such as dance and movement.

During my recent lesson on warm colors students listen to jazz music to help keep the energy up and make our paintings come alive. For my lesson for during the "happy new year", students painted fireworks listening to patriotic music.

Also, during brain breaks we use music to jump and dance around to move our bodies which I feel is so important for young children.

Thank you once again for your generous contribution and the impact that you helped be apart of.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jaime Schy

  • A Colorful Classroom

    Funded Aug 26, 2014

My students love the resources we received thanks to your help. Working with paint dots has been a wonderful tool for my students with disabilities. It's much easier for them to control and they love the bright colors. It's also been a great incentive for behavior issues. Most of my art students know that good choices are rewarded with extra art materials.

Many of the books I received have been a big hit! Students are very engaged and love the colorful pictures. Just today I read; "Too much Glue" and I had 27 Kindergartners laughing hysterically. It was so nice to send them home with huge smiles on their face! I have created so many fun art projects to go along with the books! See in my pictures attached.

Since this was my first Donors Choose project its so great to know I have support in my community. Each time I used the materials I and read the books I feel warm in my heart to know that someone like you really believed in my "Colorful Classroom". I love teaching children art and thanks to you I now have fun books and other resources to assist me in years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jaime Schy
