  • Turn 3 Ring Binders Into Amazing Portfolios!

    Funded Dec 13, 2023

The 4K students at McKinley are so grateful for your support in donating binders and pages so an end of the year portfolio can be completed. The students are excited to watch their progress throughout the year as they contribute pictures and projects to their portfolios. Parents love seeing the changes and growth their children have made throughout the year and treasure the portfolios for years to come.

Through your generous donation the students will be able to work on monthly self portraits, add printed photos of themselves as they learn and play, and show their friends their work.

Thank you again for your generous donation!!

Love, the I4K students at McKinley Elementary School.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hoeft

  • Watch the wonder of a chick hatching from an egg!

    Funded Apr 13, 2018

Through your generous donations I received our new classroom incubator in May, just a little too late to use it to hatch chick eggs for last school year. I will be getting eggs next April from a local farmer who donates them to us for classroom use each year. He allows us to hatch them in the classroom so the students can watch the process. I then take our baby chicks back to him on the farm. Our new incubator has a built in fan, thermometer and moisture control which will allow for a better hatching. It also has a clear top so my students will be able to see the chicks actually coming out of the egg. How exciting! Thank you again for all your support and encouragement as we take on a new hatching!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hoeft

I am making a request for a classroom incubator so my kindergarten students can watch in amazement the hatching of a chick. They will be able to follow up the learning of life cycles in their science lessons with a lesson they will never forget. We will learn about many oviparous animals including chickens, frogs, snakes, butterflies and others, and be able to observe a chick hatch before their very eyes. Bringing the outside world in to our classroom helps my students make connections in all areas of their lives. They will feel like “little parents” as they take responsibility for our new “students”.
