Our classroom operates on center-based learning. During center time, students work in a teacher facilitated small group or in a self-directed center. Our sensory table is used for exploration and sensory therapy for some of our learners. This is a place where new textures and objects are introduced to students and where they learn to take turns and work together. Our other centers include building, STEM learning, writing center, housekeeping, library, and art center. We need a STEM Bundle, book sets, Jumbo Nuts & Bolts sets, and other materials for our centers. By providing centers that change, we are giving the students different meaningful learning experiences throughout the year! Center time is their absolute favorite time of day at school.
