Show and Share in Our Classroom!

Funded Apr 19, 2021

We are so grateful to you for making it possible for our class to have a brand new beautiful teaching easel. We have used it for the morning message, shared writing, interactive writing, a common space to record math thinking, to display modeled work for students and more! One of my favorite uses so far has been during a math talk. Students shared ways to make 5. They gave different ideas of objects that could be drawn, writing the number 5, drawing objects in different ways and even a number sentence in August of Kindergarten! Another favorite opportunity to use the board is during interactive writing. We compose a message, label or sentence together and students take turns recording letter sounds in the writing . Students love contributing their knowledge of letter-sound correspondence as well as thinking of the words they want to use.

Our students have loved having a common place to display, see and record learning! It has been a beautiful addition to the classroom.

We will continue using our meeting area easel to share student work, create anchor charts, and do more interactive writing. Our next goal is to make labels for library baskets as we are building our library together! We will use the easel as a space to write the labels together.

Thank you for your generous contribution. I appreciate you and I know my kids do too!”

With gratitude,

Ms. Paul
