  • Arts and Crafts Just for Laughs!

    Funded Apr 15, 2008

Thank yo so much for these wonderful crafting materials! As a sixth grade teacher, I try to establish a good relationship with all of my students and therefore I leave my classroom open to them during lunch to come in and "hang out", socialize, play, and craft. This year I have been surprised at how even the boys enjoy coming in and doing some beading, so I am very happy to be receiving these wonderful materials that all of my students can enjoy and take advantage of to express their creative sides. As Mother's Day and Father's Day are both approaching, we will be creating gifts for parents, and working together to just have fun and get creative. Thank you so much for this donation! I Cannot wait to take pictures of what the kids create and send them for you to see.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. ”

  • Bilingual Literacy Bridges!

    Funded Apr 15, 2008

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my wonderful group of students! The BRIDGE=S program got off to a great start last November and several families have attend the meetings we have had since. It has proven to be a great way to bridge the gap between school and my bilingual families and enable them to participate in their children's educational process. I am so excited that all of these wonderful, bilingual books will be purchased on our behalf and enable us to further our program in the upcoming school year. Thank you so much!

    Sincerely,

I am a sixth grade teacher at a Title One school. I teach math and science and spend time after school tutoring and homeschooling an additional student. Our district has numerous program improvement level schools and ours has been in PI status and struggling for a while. As a teacher, my biggest goal is the success of my students. Each day I strive to keep them working hard to maintain their skills, inspired to make good choices, and motivated to keep going! Some days are a real struggle and faced with tremendous obstacles, and yet the rewards are numerous when they are reached!
