  • Math Support Needs Support!

    Funded Oct 26, 2023

Thank you so much for getting our class the headphones and white board pens we needed! The students use them daily while working in their IXL online lessons and assessments and it has proven to be a wonderful addition to our classroom work environment. The students have been more focused, engaged, and quietly while they work on their assignments.

Using headphones helps them stay focused on their individual math plans and not get as distracted by external influences. Minimizing the distractions plays a big part in their academic success.

We appreciate your generosity and thank you so much for selecting our class for which to make your donation.”

  • Lunch Bunch Escapes the Quad!

    Funded Jan 6, 2023

Thank you so much for selecting our amazing sixth graders to receive these art supplies and games! The students were so excited to see so many wonderful additions to our classroom, and the options that were made available to them during lunch time to occupy their time when they didn't want to go outside and be around everyone in the quad.

These new and creative lunch time options for the kids were such a blessing, especially this year since we experienced so much rain. The most popular activity was the rock painting! We came up with a way to get the whole school involved. The kids in our class painted the rocks, I would hide them around the campus, and any student that would find one would get their picture taken on the school social media page and a prize from the principal! It was a fun way to promote school spirit!

We can't wait to play some of the outdoor games as a lunch group now that the weather is getting warmer!”

  • Books to Build Literacy!

    Funded Mar 4, 2020

Thank you so much for selecting my group of students to receive your generous donation. Adding a selection of new books to our classroom library will be such a treat to all the kids, and give them hours of reading enjoyment.

In our class, since we are not an English or literature classroom, we use books as a way to fill in time between assignments as well as during the quiet time in homeroom. When students complete assigned work early, they have time to select a book off the book shelf to quietly read. The new selection of high interest books will definitely entice my sixth graders to want to read through multiple books this year!

My students and I thank you so much for the new books and look forward to exploring the new adventures contained within them!”

  • Kids Need Color!

    Funded Apr 18, 2019

Thank you so very much for selecting our class to receive your donation toward our needed art supplies. When they arrived, the students were so excited to see so many new and wonderful materials that they would be able to use before the end of this school year! We were thrilled that they came so quickly.

My sixth graders are currently working on math scrapbooks in which they are getting to use their creativity and math skills to put together a collection of vocabulary and examples for every letter of the alphabet that relates to something they learned in math this school year. With all of the new markers, the glitter ones and new permanent ones in so many colors, they are able to accent their pages and write over the various patterned papers. They are able to make their scrapbooks really a work they are proud of and every day the creative juices truly flow in this math class.

I love seeing them so engaged and involved in what they are doing. Even students whom never participate in much, are now really engaged due to the artistic component of the project. It's truly wonderful what a bit of art can bring to a lesson, and how much enjoyment it gives to students. I know this is a book they will treasure and keep for a long time as a result.

Thank you again for your kindness, and giving my students the opportunity to have the supplies to make this and future lessons all the more colorful.”

  • Needin' A Creative Outlet!

    Funded Nov 2, 2017

Thank you so much for your generous donations of amazing are supplies and materials! When the boxes arrived, my students had no idea what was inside, and so when I began opening them and shared with them all of the wonderful things that we were given they were overjoyed! With the limited supply I had left and the new materials that arrived, I was able to provide all of my 6th grade students their own dry erase marker to use on the white boards for math to start the new semester. A sense of ownership in something so small goes such a long way with so many children.

Putting out a fresh supply of markers and colored pencils after the holidays was also such a nice way to start out the new semester and our new units. Some of them get very artistic with their booklets and posters! They are still looking forward to making "shrinky dinks" as I described them, but we have a specific plan and project for them later this spring.

I am always so excited to be able to share more creative lessons with my classes and the more supplies we have with which to do them, the more we are able to do. Thank you so much for selecting our class for your donation.”

  • Comfy Corner!

    Funded Mar 17, 2014

Thank you so much for the donation of the two colorful area rugs for my classroom! Not only have they added color and added comfort to the room, but when they arrived the children raced to see who would get to sit with their partner to work on one first!

When working with partners to review math, they like to sit on the floor with their whiteboards and spread out together. Now the kids have these two rug areas on which they like to sit and work, discuss their strategies, and sometimes, even just to take notes.

Thank you so much for giving my students a comfy place to work in a math class, that deviates from the norm!”

  • Future Journalist In Need!

    Funded Oct 20, 2015

Thank you so much for the expeditious response to our proposal. Our yearbook class is having such an amazing experience since we have we received the materials to finally start working on our projects. The kids are really coming together as a team and the products they are producing are truly beautiful!

Being that we got off to a somewhat delayed start, the kids were so excited when we were finally equipped with cameras and a locking cabinet to house laptops in our classroom. Now we are able to get on-line with ease, take pictures whenever we need to of all of the school events and personnel, and make each page a work of art. Prior to the winter break they were assigned their first deadlines and they were able to meet them with skill.

I am very proud of the work they are accomplishing and thankful to you for helping us make it possible. Thank you so very much!”

  • Spring with a Splash of Color!

    Funded May 4, 2015

Thank you all so much for the generous donations that have lead to the funding of this proposal. I am so grateful to have all of these wonderful art supplies for my students right at the start of this school year. We have not wasted any time in using them!

My sixth graders use the colored pencils and markers frequently with many of the assignments that we do. For math we have these fun review sheets that they love called "facing math" that reveal a new step in a series of many to piece together a particular character. These are a fun and creative way to reinforce some of what they learn in their textbooks.

This month my eight grade life skills class are working on an anti-bullying folder in which there are comic strips to color and interpret as well as some for the to write in themselves. I've reminded them how relaxing the simplicity of coloring can be sometimes, like when they were younger.

My yearbook/journalism students love the supplies for their posters! They have made several to advertise sales and promote the yearbook as well.

These supplies were a very welcome gift and they are appreciated by all who use them daily. Thank you so much for choosing our class to receive your donations.”

  • Colorful Kiddos!

    Funded Mar 17, 2014

Thank you all so much for the amazing donation of art materials for my class! We are all so excited to have been given such a wonderful gift. Opening the packages of supplies as they came in, the responses from the children were priceless! You would have thought it was Christmas in the classroom!

It is now the fourth quarter and the students are winding down their state testing, Soon we will be starting our final projects of creating math scrapbooks for them to carry on to use in 7th grade. These will be a colorful and creative project that will definitely make use of these wonderful supplies. I am so thankful to you all for your contributions to this projects. :)”
