  • Illuminate Preschool Learning With Lightbox Accessories - Part 2

    Funded Mar 21, 2019

The lightbox accessories have been a huge success! We use them during math, literacy, and science class. All the students want to go to the lightbox center, and it has become a huge motivator.

The students enjoy using the translucent gems, bugs, and pattern blocks! The small sizes make it easy for the children to handle and move on the lightbox tablets. They talk about the colors, shapes, and also count while using these three accessories.

The students also enjoy the transparent light & color blocks, connecting tubes, light up building bricks, light table shapes, and agate light table slices. It is wonderful to see them create forms with the connecting tubes and build small structures with the light and color blocks and bricks. We will continue to use these lightbox accessories throughout the school year!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McNeal

  • Illuminate Preschool Learning With Lightbox Accessories! - Part 1

    Funded Apr 9, 2019

The lightbox accessories have been a huge success! We use them during math, literacy and science class. All the students want to go to the lightbox center, and it has become a great motivator.

The ABC Tiles have really helped the students practice forming their uppercase and lowercase letters. The students use the Math Trays during math centers. The trays are sturdy and divided in a way that helps the students count, sort, and create patterns.

After showing the students how the carefully handle the Nature Slides, the students placed them on the lightboxes and talked about the different insect and animal images they saw! The spent a lot of time using the Click Builders! They are able to share the pieces and talk about the colors and shapes they make with them.

We will continue to use these lightbox accessories throughout the school year!”

  • Learning About Light - Part Two

    Funded May 7, 2019

I can't thank you enough for providing the funding for the Activity Tablet! It has been a huge success! Having the Activity Tablet has helped the students explore counting, colors, the difference between light, dark and translucent, and different sizes.

The children know this is a unique object to use, and did a great job exploring various materials carefully. They took turns turning off the lights in the classroom and turning on the switch that lit up the tablet. In addition to turn-taking, the children talked about what they were doing and observing. We supported their language skills by introducing various vocabulary words such as translucent, building, fragile, on, off, and the names of the pattern blocks.

Thank you again for supporting the students learning and exploring in my class!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McNeal

  • Learning Math Together

    Funded Nov 28, 2018

Thank you so much for the math materials! The students really enjoyed exploring and using all of them. While they explored. my para and I helped them use the materials to expand there learning.

The students were very interested in the geoboards! They were able to create basic shapes with the rubberbands.

The tangrams are also helping my students learn shapes and colors. With colored mats, they were able to reproduce designs accurately using the tangrams! We then encouraged the students to create their own designs, which they happily did! The dough scissors and easy grip safety tweezers are also used a lot by all the students. They love play dough, and enjoy pretending to be bakers and cooks cutting and snipping the play dough before rolling it.

Thanks again for providing math materials that are helping my students learn!”

  • Magic Preschool Writing!

    Funded Sep 22, 2018

he students were so excited to see the big box when the materials arrived! Some students helped open the smaller boxes. Once the magic boards were unpacked, they wanted to use the magic boards right away! The students enjoyed drawing on them and using the alphabet tracing cards.

The students use the magic boards and tracing cards frequently throughout the week during literacy centers. The magic boards and tracing cards are so easy for the students to handle! There are enough magic boards so that each student has his own to use. The tracing cards are wonderful! The children take their time and trace each letter. When they remove the card, they are amazed to see the letters and words they have traced.

We focus on a variety of activities in order to develop the children's fine motor skills, and the magic boards are versatile enough for the children to use for other academic activities including writing numerals, drawing pictures, writing their name! These sturdy boards and magic boards will last for years. We are grateful to have these materials which help the children develop math, literacy and social skills.”

  • Preschool Math with Magnetic Manipulatives!

    Funded Sep 22, 2018

The children were so excited to see the big boxes when the materials arrived! Some students helped open the smaller boxes. They wanted to use the magnetic materials right away. Once the Write and Wipe boards were assembled, the students enjoyed exploring all the pieces.

The Stand-up Magnetic Write and Wipe Centers are a big hit with my students! The students use them frequently throughout the week during math centers. The magnetic dominoes and magnetic numbers are so easy for the students to handle. A real bonus is that the stand-up centers are double sided, which allows up to four children to use one board! During one math center time, the students were able to explore counting to ten using the magnetic numbers and magnetic pictures that came with the set.

We focus on a variety of activities in order to develop the children's fine motor skills and the Stand-Up Write and Wipe Centers are versatile enough for the children to use for other academic activities including writing numerals next to the magnetic numbers and pictures, writing their name, and drawing pictures! These sturdy boards and materials will last for years, and we are grateful to have these materials which help the children develop math, literacy and social skills.”

  • Learning Many Skills Through Dramatic Play

    Funded Nov 9, 2015

Thank you so much for your generous donations! The children really love the play hutch and play refrigerator! They choose the kitchen area everyday during choice time. Having these pieces of play furniture really helps them with their language and social skills. This is such an important part of their development, which includes their individual academic and social goals. It is wonderful to see them thrive and be happy as they learn through play! These pieces of play furniture benefit not only the children in the current class, but future students as well. You are truly making a difference – thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. McNeal

Learning Social and Academic Skills Though Dramatic Play My students need a new play refrigerator and hutch to complete the wooden play stove/oven in the dramatic play area. The curriculum I use promotes many hands on learning activities, as well as learning through music and movement. These activities happen in various centers I have set up in the room. The play kitchen refrigerator and hutch are falling apart.
