  • Math Puzzles

    Funded Dec 9, 2024

My students had an amazing and powerful experience learning to solve the math puzzles These new math puzzles provide the students with different kinds of challenges and the students have to cooperate, take risks and trust one another.

The math challenges were tough and most were accomplished. All the challenges lead perfectly into powerful whole class discussions and the students learn so much about themselves and others. Everyone learns something new and this knowledge leads into problem solving and most important, they learn to think critically and in new ways. Thank you for this amazing opportunity.”

  • 5th Grade Student Supplies

    Funded Aug 22, 2024

Sorry for the delay. My students are really enjoying their binders, pencil pouches, pencils, pens, and dividers. These essential items are keeping them organized and feeling confident about school.

The binders are taken home and brought back to school every day. They take their binders to different classes and they are learning how to stay organized and they can find their papers easily.

The pencil pouches are great too. They put their glue sticks, pencil sharpener, pens and pencils and erasers inside these pouches. No one is allowed to put their supplies. inside their desks. Every item stays inside the pouch that is inside the binder.

Thank you so much for helping my students feel confident.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Belmont

  • Math Puzzles

    Funded Nov 2, 2023

Thanks for much for the amazing math puzzles. The students look forward to our math rotations every day and their favorite rotation are the math puzzles. They get to explore and experiment and take risks and challenges. The math puzzles require creativeness and problem solving and they get to collaborate with others to achieve a goal. These math puzzles help with keeping the students stay on task and build stamina for problem solving. It gives them a new way of thinking and approaching a multi step problem.”

When Dave Nettell visits a school for his Cooperative Adventures, it is nearly impossible for him to step foot on campus without "Mr. Nettell!!" shouts from students and a line of hugs. His classroom programs make such a difference in the lives of children that not only are there instant changes in classroom behavior, but they take these skills and apply them toward their family relationships, friend relationships and real-world experiences. Mr. Nettell teaches children how to take hold of their emotions, demonstrate positive social critical thinking skills and improve communication skills through unique team-building opportunities. He has developed his one-of-a-kind program from decades of experience in classrooms as an administrator, providing professional development to teachers and by traveling around the world while sharing his knowledge. Once in the classroom, he begins with small "challenges" that set the tone for positive behaviors such as making good decisions, thinking before speaking, focusing, encouragement and many more. As the students prove to be successful with these small challenges, they steadily increase in difficulty to strengthen their team work ability and positive communication skills. The changes I have seen from past students undeniably prove his worth! He makes kids see their hidden potential and allows them to take risks in a safe environment in which they may otherwise have not. The students leave each program knowing that they are loved and that they have so much more to offer our classroom and our community.
