When Dave Nettell visits a school for his Cooperative Adventures, it is nearly impossible for him to step foot on campus without "Mr. Nettell!!" shouts from students and a line of hugs. His classroom programs make such a difference in the lives of children that not only are there instant changes in classroom behavior, but they take these skills and apply them toward their family relationships, friend relationships and real-world experiences.
Mr. Nettell teaches children how to take hold of their emotions, demonstrate positive social critical thinking skills and improve communication skills through unique team-building opportunities. He has developed his one-of-a-kind program from decades of experience in classrooms as an administrator, providing professional development to teachers and by traveling around the world while sharing his knowledge. Once in the classroom, he begins with small "challenges" that set the tone for positive behaviors such as making good decisions, thinking before speaking, focusing, encouragement and many more. As the students prove to be successful with these small challenges, they steadily increase in difficulty to strengthen their team work ability and positive communication skills.
The changes I have seen from past students undeniably prove his worth! He makes kids see their hidden potential and allows them to take risks in a safe environment in which they may otherwise have not. The students leave each program knowing that they are loved and that they have so much more to offer our classroom and our community.
