  • Classroom Essentials

    Funded Jul 6, 2024

I am writing to extend our deepest gratitude for your generous donation towards our classroom essentials. Your thoughtful contribution will make a significant impact on our learning environment. With your support, we have been able to provide the necessary supplies and resources that are essential for our students' academic success. The new supplies will not only enhanced our educational experience but have also inspired and motivated our students to engage more actively in their studies.

Seeing the joy and excitement on the faces of our students as they use the new materials is always heartwarming. Your generosity has not only provided tangible resources but has also shown our students the importance of community support and the value of education.

We are incredibly fortunate to have donors like you who believe in our mission and are willing to invest in the future of our children. Your support helps us to continue striving for excellence in education and ensures that our students have the tools they need to succeed.

Once again, thank you for your kindness and generosity. We look forward to sharing with you the progress and achievements of our students, made possible by your invaluable support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Elefantis

  • Back to the Basics

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

Thank you for your generosity! My students have been looking for opportunities to express their creativity, and the materials I received helped make it possible. My Latin American History class was especially thrilled, because the materials arrived as we were studying the many diverse cultures and artistic styles of Latin America. Thanks to the crayons, markers, and paper, my class was able to explore their creativity and create pictures which reflect the art and culture of Latin America.

While high schoolers are all about image, I did see some eyes light up when I opened up the supplies and told them that we were about to get creative. I try to give my students as many opportunities as possible to demonstrate their learning. Some are excellent test takers, others would rather talk to me about learning, some students take to writing, and as I've seen, some prefer to demonstrate their learning through art.

My next steps are for students to expand on their creativity, and continue to give my students diverse opportunities to demonstrate their learning as we prepare to wrap up our year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Elefantis

  • Help the Rattlers Strike!

    Funded Sep 14, 2019

The team and I are extremely grateful for your generous contributions to our bowling program. Our bowlers have been using our new resources throughout the season and now they have made the postseason! They were surprised to see the resources that were donated at our first practice and they loved learning about how to take care of their bowling equipment.

One experience that stood out was when the bowlers saw our Salmon Creek Nu Ball Machine in action. They were impressed by how much oil came out of their bowling balls. Over the course of the season, everyone had an opportunity to use it. The team also enjoyed having the resurfacing kit and polish available to them on the lanes. During warmups, they were able to adjust the surface of their bowling ball to deal with the lane conditions. If they needed their bowling balls to hook more, we were able to sand it. If they needed less hook, we used the Motiv Power Gel Polish to shine their bowling balls.

I am very thankful for the generosity of the donors, and moving forward, the team is excited to continue to use our materials as we get ready for postseason play!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Elefantis

My social studies "classroom" is one of five that is in the transformed library in Mojave High School's Academy, a program comprised of 11th and 12th graders who are severely credit deficient and are taking advantage of a second chance at graduation. For many of these students, coming to school is a struggle due to the other number of adult responsibilities these 16, 17, and 18-year-old young adults are dealing with. Many students come from poverty and lack essential supplies that we cannot afford to give them access to. I am also the Head Bowling Coach at Mojave and am working to get our students their own equipment, instead of using rental shoes and house bowling balls from the bowling center.
