The students will be able to go through the engineering process utilizing the STEM Early Learning Packs which allow for creative thinking and working through problems. The Social-Emotional Library will be used for discussion of how to work through the STEAM process while emphasizing the importance of sharing, taking turns, how to work through issues, and important listening skills.
Using the STEM Early Learning Block Play Kit and STEM Motion Kit, as well as the Social-Emotional Library pack and STEM Library Pack, the students will be learning to work collaboratively as they go through the STEAM process for engineering their projects, thus incorporating the social-emotional learning aspect while creating through cooperative learning and problem-solving. Because reading aloud to Pre-K students is an important aspect of early reading skills, having books related to the STEAM concepts will give them a deeper understanding of how the process works.
The students are so innovative when given the most unconventional items to create with. When they learn to work together TRULY AMAZING things are sure to happen.
