Supplies in Demand!
Funded Oct 12, 2024My students were so excited to receive our supplies. They really enjoyed using the water-colors during Spotlight Artist. On Friday, the class used cardstock paper as they created smiley flowers inspired by artist, Takashi Murakami.
During math, some students used the graph paper to divide 3-digit numbers by a 1-digit number in a neat and organized manner.
The class enjoys being rewarded immediately with a prize when they are showing kindness and/or showing exceptional dedication in their work.”

Let’s Fill Up Our Classroom with Supplies!
Funded Dec 11, 2024Thank you so much for helping to fund my project. This is a great holiday gift. I cannot wait to tell my class tomorrow! They are going to enjoy using the school supplies. They will be extremely excited when we receive the pencil sharpeners since our last one broke. I greatly appreciate your kind act.”

Conceptual Understanding with Hands-On Learning!
Funded Apr 28, 2024My fourth graders truly enjoy math. However, this year some of my students are struggling with basic skills. The manipulatives are helping them to comprehend basic skills and concepts that are needed in the fourth grade.
I cannot wait for our fractions unit in order to use the manipulatives as visuals. My students will easily understand that a fraction is a part of a whole. They will also decompose and compose fractions using real-world word problems.
Thank you once again for our generosity and kindness.”

Comfortable Seating
Funded May 6, 2024Thank you so much for donating these supplies to my class. They greatly appreciate it. The seat cushions are used in the meeting area. They are also used on their chairs for comfortable seating. Some students sit on the cushions, while others use the cushions for their backs.
The math books are very informative and engaging. I already read the How Much is a Million book during our place value unit in September.
The erasers were a big hit! The students love receiving them as prizes!
Thank you once again!”

Funded Apr 2, 2024Thank you so much for the art supplies. Your donation was shipped and quickly received by our class. We were learning about Nek Chand and how he collected rocks and stones during his long bicycle rides. He used those materials to build the first phase of his garden in 1965. My class first sketched a flower, inspired by Nek Chand, on paper that they then started to create by using the mosaic tiles that you donated.
After Spring Break, my class will use the molding clay to create Colonial toys. They are very excited to start this project! Thank you once again!!”

Funded Mar 19, 2024Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students were elated when they opened the packages for our classroom. They really enjoyed placing the books in our levelled library. They immediately wanted to book shop from our library because of our new collection of books that ranged in reading levels and genres.
The paper organizer bins will allow me to stay organized as I print classwork and separate them by subject and check/grade papers.
The pencil erasers and stickers are helpful as rewards for students when they are behaving or even being good participants in class.”

Effective Small Group Instruction
Funded Apr 6, 2023Thank you so much for funding my project. The jumbo timer was a great help. All of my students were able to see it on the whiteboard so they know how much time they have to complete a project. My class eats lunch at 12:40. Since it's a late lunch time, they are allowed to eat a small snack. The timer lets them know how much time they have left to eat their snack. Students also have center time for reading and math. They know how much time they have left in each center because of the timer. I wasn't able to bring the easel to my new school. I had to leave it at my previous school. I know the easel will be brought to good use since funding is very limited at my previous school.”

Funded May 8, 2023Thank you so much for your generous donation. Teaching math, whether when working with a whole class or within a small group is a lot easier with hands-on manipulatives. My students were able to understand the relationship between place values with the help of the place value materials. They even compared and ordered numbers with the help of the base-ten materials. They were then able to add and subtract whole numbers. Most of the students were able to add or subtract without the use of the manipulatives. However, when subtracting with regrouping, especially subtracting across zeroes, some students needed some guidance. We are now learning how to multiply. I can't wait to use the manipulatives. In addition, I am excited about the fraction materials since lots of students panic when hearing the word "fractions". Thank you so much, once again!”

Funded Sep 22, 2022Thank you so much for the iPad and case. I am able to attend virtual meetings. I can also plan instruction with the use of educational games and websites such as "kahoot". I have even used the iPad for training that is needed throughout the school year. For example, teachers have to watch a Bloodborne Pathogens training that's virtual.
The iPad has helped me tremendously because I have some students that speak little English. Therefore, I use Google translate to help communicate with them. Some students speak Arabic, while others speak Spanish or Tibetan.”

Supplies, Supplies! We Need Supplies!
Funded Aug 10, 2022The supplies that you donated have made such an impact in my classroom. The room is bright and colorful with the bulletin board paper that you donated. Students are able to use markers, colored pencils, and crayons from the art caddy. In addition, students use the clipboards for writing and taking notes. For example, they used the clipboards when we went on a nature walk to observe how plants and animals interact. The erasers for the dry erase boards are a plus because many students would use a tissue to clean their board.”
