Teaching with Technology
Funded Dec 19, 2017I can't thank you enough for your kindness and generosity towards my classroom. The iPad has been a huge blessing. We have been able to use it for numerous things. Each morning we start with math facts and I have one lucky student who gets to do their math on the iPad. :) We also do listening to reading each day and we are able to use the app called Epic, where the kids can listen to the books read to them. The kids love to solve math problems and use the QR code reader on the iPad to check if they are right. We have used the iPad to play a review game called Kahoot.
The kids also use the iPad when they turn in the classroom coupons "music" (they get to listen to music throughout the day using my Amazon Music app and the iPad time coupon where they get to "play" on the iPad. Finally, (but not only!) we have used the iPad during our reading group time and the kids can go online and look up words that they want to learn more about.
Having the iPad has really impacted our learning. It has enhanced lessons that I have taught. For example, the children read an article about candy canes and we were able to quickly pull up a YouTube video about how to make candy canes and the kids could watch the process on the spot! How meaningful for the kids!
Thank you so much. You have impacted so many students beyond measure!”

A Camera to Capture Creations!
Funded Nov 13, 2012I cannot thank you enough for your very generous donations toward this classroom project. We have thoroughly enjoyed having a digital camera at our disposal. One of the things that we have been able to do with the camera is capture moments when the children say, "look at this!" If you see the picture I have posted of the word spelled using wikki sticks, that particular student was so proud of that! I was glad to have the camera ready to take a photo and print a copy so she could take it home and show her family.
I have also been able to take pictures for some projects that we have been working on in the classroom. The first one was a snow globe where the child was "in the globe." I took pictures of the students and they became the project! I also took pictures of each student to attach to a reading incentive award. They loved having their pictures on the award!
Finally, I have been able to take many pictures of the students working together to
share with other teachers. I am so proud of all the things the students do during the day and I am so thrilled that I can share that hard work with others.
Words just cannot express how thankful I am for each and every one of the donations made here. You have given us a special gift, more than the material item supplied for us, you have given us your love. For that I thank you.”

Mrs. Rebholz
