I teach small groups of first through third grade special needs students. I work at a high-poverty school in a high-crime area. Despite all the adversity that they encounter on a daily basis, my students come to school smiling, energetic, and ready and willing to learn. Classroom teachers modify lessons, incorporate energizers, and seek to make learning engaging.
The children I work with have learning difficulties, language processing issues, and attention issues. This makes it exponentially harder for them to succeed throughout the school day. I truly believe that each person learns differently, but everyone CAN learn and be successful in school and life.
