Before we had to close our school down last March, we used mini whiteboards daily during math. It helped provoke more critical thinking during Number Talks and provided better student engagement. Even though many of my students are English language learners, math is the one universal language that we all can understand together. Now that we are all at home, I feel the need for us to try and use the mini whiteboards again due to the lack of technology resources for many of my students. This will allow me to "see" their thinking as they try solve math problems and I will be able to see their work.
