This class of 5 and 6 year old students is eager to learn to read and write. They are curious about the world they live in and love listening to stories and non-fiction books that will satisfy their curiosity while helping them become better readers and writers. This is an inclusion classroom with children and varied levels and children with special needs. Our school is in a diverse community where some students have all the resources and supports needed to succeed in school and some students receive the majority of their support at school. Many are not read to at home for a host of reasons, but we fill that need by providing a culturally rich literary library in our school with a variety of leveled books that the children can listen to in the classroom.
