  • Little Things That Make a Big Difference

    Funded Dec 8, 2024

Thank you so very much for your generous contributions to help fund this project! I was extremely excited to see that it had been funded and know that my students and I will all benefit from the items that will be coming to our classroom soon! Thank you for considering my class and choosing to help us out this year.”

  • School Supplies for Students

    Funded Jul 27, 2024

Thank you again for your generous donation to my class. The students and I use the paper, markers, folders, pencils and printer ink on a daily basis. These things really do help so much and I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness donating to this project. We will continue to use these basic supplies throughout the year in all that we do in the classroom. It was a huge relief to many of my students and their parents to not have to buy these things on their own as funds are tight.

    Thank you so much!”

  • School Supplies for Students

    Funded Dec 25, 2022

Our class was so excited to receive new classroom materials! Basic school supplies such as new pencils and notebooks may seem small for some, however, for the students in my class, it brought huge smiles to their faces! The new pencil sharpener was put to use right away. It works so quickly and efficiently, saving time and energy. The copy paper and ink cartridges are also used on a daily basis in order to get important resources into the hands of students, helping with reading, writing and math. Students use the highlighters to help with syllabication and now have notebooks for word work, writing journals and math. Thank you again for your generous contribution, allowing for more learning to take place in the classroom.”

  • Learning Through Art

    Funded Aug 24, 2022

Thank you so very much for your generous contribution to the project "Learning Through Art." My students were overjoyed to see the new art materials and often ask when we will get to do art next.

Today we were able to do a fun painting project to go along with the story, "A Wish to be a Christmas Tree." The students first listened to the story about a tree in the forest that longs to be chosen to be a Christmas tree. He never gets picked however, the animals in the forest tell him how special he is to them and decorate him at the end in order for him to feel chosen and important, finally getting to be a celebrated Christmas tree. We had great discussion about kindness and how it makes a huge difference when we share with others how they are special to us. Students then wrote about the story on the back of a Christmas tree that they were then able to paint using the materials you provided for our class. The project really came to life at the end after they saw their uniquely painted trees.

Thank you again for helping students learn using their creativity and artistic expression.”

  • Laptop to Enhance Teaching and Learning

    Funded Feb 4, 2022

Thank you again for your generous contribution to my project. The addition of a laptop has already greatly impacted my teaching and learning as an educator!

I have been able to plan lessons more effectively from home, attend professional development meetings via Zoom and conduct parent-teacher conferences using my new laptop. I am grateful for the ease at which I'm able to do daily tasks such as checking in student work on SeeSaw, entering grades and accessing other files and documents through Google Docs. I have also been able to more readily access Class Dojo, our behavioral point system. This has helped me to more immediately communicate with parents to keep them in the loop regarding their children's academic and behavioral progress. Before I only had one computer that could not be removed from my desk because it is set up to my Smart Board, the computer projecting Google Slides for students to see. Now that I have a laptop, I can use it to directly impact teaching and learning in other areas of the classroom during small group time, in the library, the multi purpose room, in the office for meetings and at home!

This new laptop has truly helped me to be a more effective teacher and I am incredibly grateful! I plan to use it for years to come as I continue to plan daily lessons using Google Slides and conduct online meetings from school or from home. Thank you again for making a huge difference in my day to day life as a teacher!”

  • All Purpose Teaching Easel

    Funded Sep 6, 2018

My students and I greatly appreciate your generous contribution toward the All Purpose Teaching Easel. It is an excellent way for students to be able to clearly see models and teaching points of concepts and strategies learned in class. It is easier to write on and display chart paper and is also an engaging way for students to be more involved in shared interactive reading and writing. They love having the opportunity to write on the board and have gained a new understanding of how we are all capable of teaching and learning from one another. Thank you again for getting this tool for teaching and learning into our classroom. We are extremely thankful!”

  • Exploring Chapter Books

    Funded Nov 4, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you again for your generous contribution to the project "Exploring Chapter Books." My students were just as excited as I was to receive these books and they immediately started talking about which books they wanted to read first. That alone, student interest, is the number one reason we needed and are so thankful to have these books in our classroom!

Many of my students are beginning to read chapter books for the first time ever! Our outdated selection of books caused them to feel discouraged and frustrated as they began to tackle the reading skills found in chapter books. These skills include: discovering the meaning of higher-level vocabulary words, following multiple characters and dialogue throughout a story, inferring character traits and motivation as well as remembering various events as they take place in the plot stretched across numerous chapters. In our classroom students are grouped together with peers that are all reading similar level books and they are able to meet with their "book club" daily to read and discuss the chapter books they are reading. Their engagement level has definitely increased with the addition of these new chapter books. Every day they can't wait to read then get together with their groups to share their thoughts and ideas about what they read. They have so much more to add to discussions as they are excited about taking notes and thinking of questions to ask their peers about the chapters they read.

Thank you for helping to make reading chapter books a new and exciting endeavor rather than a daunting task. We really appreciate it!”

  • Multicultural Literature to Support Reading and Writing

    Funded Oct 7, 2014

Thank you so much for your generous donation to help fund our project which provided my students with a large variety of multicultural literature and mentor texts helping them to improve their reading and writing. My students were so excited to see the amount of new books that were added to our classroom library! Every week when they are able to "shop" for new books to add to their book boxes they always choose to read the books that you helped to provide for them first! Thank you for making such an incredible impact on their learning.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mariani

  • Informational/Nonfiction Books

    Funded Mar 8, 2014

Thank you again for donating money to the project "Informational/Nonfiction Books." The students couldn't believe how many brand new books we were getting and they were so excited to start reading them! Every Friday the students get to "go shopping" for books that they will read in class throughout the following week. The first Friday after the new books came, they couldn't wait to "go shopping!"

The books came at the perfect time. My students were in the middle of working on research papers about an animal of their choice. Many of them could not find books at their reading level about the animals they chose which made the project more difficult for them. As soon as the books arrived, they finally had books about animals they chose, at reading levels they could understand, which helped them to learn new information to add to their research papers.

I love watching my students' faces light up with excitement as they read. The addition of these nonfiction/informational books to our classroom library has really increased the motivation for reading in my class and every day a student comes up to me excited to share something interesting they learned from one of our new books. In addition to their increased desire to read, these books have helped students understand the nonfiction text features along with main idea and details, which are part of the new Common Core Standards.”

  • Interactive Learning!

    Funded Oct 3, 2013

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students were ecstatic the first day that I introduced Hot Dots to them. Huge smiles lightened up their faces, as some already knew about these awesome interactive learning games which led them to eagerly share the excitement of how to "play" with their peers.

Hot Dots have become an engaging addition to our Daily Five routine in the morning for Language Arts and one of the options for math games in the afternoon. Giving students more choice this year has proved to be extremely beneficial to the outcome of learning taking place in our classroom and Hot Dots have been the top choice when it comes to games for Language Arts and Math.

Thank you again for believing in education and providing students with opportunities to interact with learning in a way that makes school more fun!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mariani
