  • Wild About Teaching

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for your generous donations. When I wrote this project my goal was for 10 colleagues from my school to participate in a book study on The Wild Card written by Hope and Wade King. The Wild Card is a step-by-step guide to experiencing creative breakthroughs in classrooms. Many of my colleagues and I have been lucky to visit The Ron Clark Academy where we met and observed Hope and Wade King. Their passion, inspiration and dedication is contagious. Through word of mouth and the power of social media we had 57 educators from across our entire district join our book study. The 57 participants started the school year bringing Hope and Wade's passion and creativity into schools around our district because of the book study! Teachers have done room transformations, included content based songs and chants and already created numerous outside-the-box lessons! The impact our book study had on hundreds of students is immeasurable! This is impact is thanks to generous donors like you!”

  • Learning is a Ball

    Funded May 11, 2017

Thank you for helping my classroom have more flexible seating options by purchasing stability balls for us. When students arrive at school they get to choose their work spot for the day. Stability balls are always a popular choice!

First graders are naturally very busy and wiggly. When students sit on a stability ball to complete their work I notice they are able to get their wiggles out yet stay safe and not distract those around them. The stability balls are also helping to improve their gross motor skills and coordination.

We held a parent event in our classroom before school started. At first parents were intrigued, yet a little apprehensive about their first grader sitting on a stability ball. After I explained the reasoning behind flexible seating they became as excited as the students! By the time parents visited our classroom for Open House a month later they couldn't wait to see and hear more about them. When other staff members visit our classroom for observations or meetings, many choose a stability ball! Principal included!

Thank you again for your generosity and interest in our classroom.”

  • Wiggle While We Learn

    Funded Jul 13, 2016

Thank you so much for funding our "Wiggle While We Learn" project! The wobble stools have made a huge impact on my first graders ability to focus while sitting at the Teacher Table for small group instruction. Students are able to wiggle while they are learning! When choosing work spots throughout the day, the wobble stools are the first flexible seating option to be chosen. Many teachers on my campus have heard about our wobble stools, stop by to see them in action and want to order them for their own classrooms.

We have another live project to help us implement full flexible seating in our classroom. It expires in 2 weeks! I would love for you to check it out!

  • Roll the Dice with Math Stations

    Funded Dec 7, 2012

Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. My students are loving using the dice during math time. The materials you provided our class through this project are perfect for our math station activities where we practice previously learned skills! They are also being used daily for games we play at literacy centers!

With our many budget cuts it is difficult to obtain new classroom materials. Because of donations from companies like you, our classroom gets the materials that help make it a much more engaging learning environment!”

  • Miss G.'s Monkeys Need More Books!

    Funded Aug 8, 2012

Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. My students are loving listening to the nonfiction science books on CD at our Listening Center. When I created this project, I was a first grade teacher. Three weeks into the school year, I became a first and second grade teacher during our 2 hour daily reading block. The materials you provided our class through this project turned out to be perfect for our new combination reading class! The students are learning science as well as increasing their reading fluency.

With all of the budget cuts it is difficult to obtain new classroom materials. Because of donations from companies like you, our classroom gets the materials that help make it a much more engaging learning environment!”

    With gratitude,

The majority of my students come from low income families. Almost 70% qualify for free or reduced lunch and some are even homeless. Most students come to school with a limited vocabulary, very few positive life experiences, and little background knowledge about most science topics.
