I am a Special Education teacher, and I have the privilege to instruct students in Reading and Writing. It can be difficult at times since these are areas of difficulty and cause frequent frustrations, but my students are warriors. They work hard and try to overcome their disabilities. Some days, I think I learn more from them then they do from me. My high school students are discovering who they are as an individual and are trying to make decisions for their future. In order to be productive, active, and informed citizens, they do need to master minimal skills to participate effectively. My goal is to assist them as they increase their independence, especially in the areas of written expression and reading.
