My students are effervescent 5th graders with curiosity and positive energy that knows no bounds. They are part of a school that values being part of a strong community where everyone's voices can bring about meaningful change. The students help one another be not only the best they can be academically but also the best people they can be. They are deeply invested in their work and feel real ownership over it. They learn about reading genre through books they are passionate about, write plays to teach younger children lessons using fable formats, invent their own math probability games and learn how ecosystems work through creating and observing terrariums and aquariums. It's a vibrant learning community where everyone works together and works hard. Students learning what it means to work in groups is not only a vital skill but the central vehicle by which our students learn: being in a community of learners where we hold each other accountable for the quality of our work.
