  • Reorganizing Our Room

    Funded May 3, 2022

Thank you so much for our amazing new organization materials for our classroom. These items have been so helpful in keeping my students on task and helping them learn responsibility this school year. The seat sacks provide more storage for all of our materials since our tables do not have storage built in. The paper sorter in our writing center have helped my students keep up with their writing from day to day during stations. We can't tell you enough how much your help has meant to use this school year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Jordan

  • The End Is Only the Beginning

    Funded May 3, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom project and my students. The bubbles were a really fun way for us to end the school year on the last few days of school. The book binding machine and lamination sheets provided me with a way to give students fun practice activities and games for the summer. They were able to continue working on writing sight words, doing addition and subtraction, and even work on some phonics skills that we had recently learned. I know they will be so ready for a new year in first grade thanks to your support.”

  • It’s Been a Bright Year!

    Funded Apr 18, 2022

Thank you so much for your kind donations to my students and our classroom. They absolutely loved getting to play with chalk and bubbles outside on the last few days of school. They were also able to take some of these items home with them for the summer. They allowed them to be able to continue working on things like addition, subtraction, and writing sight words while still having fun over the summer break. THe balloons were a really fun way for use to count down to the last day of school. Each balloon had a nef fun activity inside it.”

    Mrs. Jordan

  • Keeping Them Fed

    Funded Aug 15, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom project. My students have flown through the boxes of snacks that you helped me provide to them super quickly. They enjoyed having lots of prepackaged items to choose from on a daily basis. Most students do not come to class each day with their own snack to eat. Having the pre packaged snacks made my life so much easier than trying to find time to pass a handful of gold fish or Cheerios put to each students table. It has also allowed us to keep working/ moving around the room while we eat.”

  • Ending the Year on the Bright Side

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

Thank you so much for your extremely generous donations to our classroom project. I sent per so excited to each have their own refillable plastic water bottle to keep in our classroom and use daily. Since Covid we have really gotten away from using the water fountain and have added bottle filling stations to our school. These water bottles have come in super handy at making that transition successful. I sent also really liked the bubble ones and canvas bags that were added to our Classroom store.”

  • Light Up Our Learning

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

Thank you so much for your extremely generous donations to our classroom materials project. My students have absolutely loved using our desk top light tables each week during station time. The additional building blocks and linking cubes have been such a fun incentive to add to our fun Friday stations. The kids can't wait until it is their turn to try out then new materials each week. Without the help of donors choose and people like you would classroom and my students year just would not be the same.”

  • Keeping Warm

    Funded Jan 25, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to my kindergarten classroom. My students were so excited to receive their warm winter scarves at school the day before we let out for snowy weather. It was a great surprise at the perfect time. They've also loved using their reusable water bottles every day in class. They are so sad when they forget them at home occasionally. With the water fountains so far away down our hallway is really nice to have one for each student. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!”

  • Working Towards a Goal

    Funded Jan 23, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom project. My students are really enjoying getting to earn extra time outside using sidewalk chalk during the week. It's a great way to incorporate some outside time with writing sight words and completing math assignments. They also have really enjoyed the light up wands and bags being in our classroom store as they reach new goals weekly. Our classroom just wouldn't be the same without your kind hearts and amazing support of my students futures.”

  • Motivation for the Holidays

    Funded Nov 19, 2021

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom project for my sweet kindergarten babies. Most of my students are absolutely in love with the idea of the elf on the shelf. Several of them do not have one at home though as they are very expensive. It was so fun to be able to see my students faces light up as they received their own special elf to take home and be able to love on throughout the holidays. Each student shared their else name with me with the biggest smile on their faces. It was such a special thing to witness.”

I teach in a high poverty neighborhood, in East Texas, where most of my students are English language learners. They all work very hard despite the many challenges they face at home, challenges that I couldn't imagine facing as an adult, let alone as a child. Because of their hard work throughout the year they are able to make great gains in their reading, listening and speaking skills. However, there is still more work to be done in order to become proficient. Many of my students don't have access to this type of technology at home and they would be very excited to use the Nooks. The enjoyment of the Nooks will turn into an enjoyment of reading.
