  • Maximized Space, Maximized Learning

    Funded Dec 9, 2024

I can't thank you enough for the wonderful resources that you have provided for my classroom. It's easy to get stuck into the routines of your classroom. Rejuvenating the space and making it a welcoming and functional environment is so important. The bins have allowed us to have functional access to all our supplies. The hanging lamp creates a comfortable aesthetic and allows me the flexibility to turn off the glaring fluorescent lights throughout the day. Finally, the mobile desk allows me to travel throughout the classroom with all the supplies I need ready and available to my students.

Items like these aren't only not in our budgets, but they're unattainable if it wasn't for the generous actions of people like you. I can't thank you enough for positively impacting the climate of our classroom for many years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ingram

  • Tune-Up The Toolkit

    Funded Nov 14, 2024

Thank you so much for the TeachersPayTeachers gift card for our classroom. There were so many resources that were in need of updating and our district gives us a $0 budget. My teaching partner and I worked together and purchased task cards for reading fluency, writing projects, language arts and math desk helpers for struggling learners, early finisher enrichment work, handwriting workbooks, and collaborative art projects. This year alone the resources will be used by 40 students, not to mention within our classrooms for so many years to come. We appreciate your generosity and look forward to carrying on your giving spirit through the holiday season!”

  • In With The New

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

I can't tell you how helpful these resources have been to my classroom. We recently had two schools consolidate into one. As you can imagine, it greatly impacted our storage space. A lot of my resources are now housed in my room and were packed in every nook and cranny of my classroom. I desperately needed some more efficient storage solutions. The bins were used to house bulletin board supplies discreetly under my sink. My under-shelf baskets have organized my paper and envelopes for easy and safer access by my students. The tension rod has given me an extra shelf in my classroom closet and utilizes otherwise dead space. I feel so much better about being in my uncluttered, organized environment and I know my students do to. These supplies were something I needed but not something I could justify in my budget. Thank you so much for your generous donation.”

  • Bugging Out!

    Funded Jun 3, 2024

I can't thank you enough for the Hexbug kits for the new school year. These will provide my students with opportunities to exercise their STEM skills each day. School budgets would never allow for such a purchase and I am so grateful. What my students need more than anything are tools in their hands to implement 21st century learning skills. Each year our budgets get cut more and more, and I truly would not be able to comfortably run my classroom with the help of DonorsChoose. The impact you are making is immeasurable and I will forever be grateful.”

  • Adventure Awaits!

    Funded May 9, 2024

I can't thank you enough for your donations of these new novels to our classroom. The National Park research project has been a huge initiative for our third grade classes. We as teachers have worked hard to make this an engaging and cross-curricular research project to be continued for many years to come. Not having visited these places, my students struggle to envision the landscape. These new novels are going to allow them immerse themselves in new lands and adventures from a kid's point of view. I can't wait share them with our classes!

We all know the current educational climate has not been friendly to teachers. More and more is cut each year and teachers are the ones paying for the difference on already humble paychecks. I can't tell you what it means to be able to refresh our classroom through donors like you. You give us the tools we can't afford that ignite our spirit for teaching. These texts will be used for many years to come, and I am deeply grateful.”

  • Reading For Research

    Funded May 8, 2024

I can't thank you enough for your generous donations to our classroom project. Adding research for each grade level has been a school-wide goal this year. My teaching partner and I are proud of the planet and National Park projects that we put together, but we found that our library resources for research were lacking. We didn't want our students just relying on the internet, so we were sharing books across our school buildings, which as you can imagine, took some organization and time to plan.

Third grade is so excited to have our own textbook resources for the next school year. It's going to make the projects flow so much more easily. Our students are going to have the grade appropriate text and photos all in one place that they can carry across the curriculum, from reading and writing into art for their logo projects. These texts aren't just going to impact our third graders this year. You've left a legacy on our school that will carry on for many years to come. From the bottom of our hearts, we are so grateful.”

  • Bring Us The Questioneers!

    Funded Apr 15, 2024

I can't tell you what it means to have these new books for my class. I'm in a very poor, rural community. Most of my students come with basic needs unmet, so new book sets aren't something that's prioritized within our budgets. Most of my shelves are from yard sales or given to me through donations. To have a fresh set, especially one that is so educationally rich and relevant with our kids, is such an unexpected blessing.

I picked The Questioneers set for a few reasons. I love that the stories are rich in STEM topics, there are a wide variety of cultures and demographics represented, and the stories showcase kids passionately pursuing hobbies and talents with a growth mindset. The stories are already a hit and they're going to be building on these characters for many years to come.

To have this project funded by someone who understand what it means to teach in an area like mine means the world to me. You understand our need and know the excitement that these kids will have every time they pick up one of these books. You are changing the world one book at a time, and I can't thank you enough.”

  • Restock and Reorganize

    Funded Mar 15, 2024

I can't thank you all enough for the classroom supplies. When the box arrived this morning, I could have cried. Ink, batteries, and markers are things that are always in short supply and are such an expense. It's a relief knowing that our shelves are stocked for the foreseeable future, allowing me to focus my time an energy on more pertinent classroom needs. The pocket charts and pointers are truly luxuries our myself and my students. I would have never bought them on my own, but having them is going to create new reward systems and routines to refresh our classroom. Each year our budgets get cut more and more, and I truly would not be able to comfortably run my classroom with the help of DonorsChoose. The impact you are making is immeasurable and I will forever be grateful.”

  • A Total Eclipse of Our Hearts

    Funded Mar 10, 2024

I can't thank you enough for your generosity in funding this project. Eclipse Day is going to fall at the end of our space unit, so it's the perfect time to celebrate the completion of their goals with themed snacks, surprises, and decorations. My student teacher and I have planned a day that's going to be filled with glow activities that will transport our children into the Milky Way Galaxy. The third graders will rotate through stations to prepare them for the celestial event, and we will end our day on the lawn with an eclipse picnic. The eclipse is going to be such a unique event for our area because we fall in the path of totality, and being in school for the day is going to allow us to make it a day that our students will never forget. I can't thank you enough for making these special days happen. They are the things that keep our passion for teaching burning.”

My 4th grade students attend a very small, rural elementary school in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds. In my classroom it is my goal to provide my students with a well-rounded education, prioritizing literacy, 21st century mathematics and technology skills, and outdoor education. Many of my students come from low-socioeconomic families and do not have much exposure different cultures and parts of the world. Because of that, I highly value literature within my classroom, and I feel that reading is the gateway to inspire future learning!
