  • Keep us Warm, Fed, and Healthy this School Year!

    Funded Aug 23, 2017

Thank you for contributing to our project. I love seeing the expressions on my students faces as boxes and boxes come into the room. When I told them everything was for them to take home, they were so excited. The students loved having different snacks to select from on a daily basis. There were a few students who even took for a younger sibling because they felt bad eating a snack in their presence.

The sweatshirts and hats are extremely helpful with this cold winter we are having. All the students have their own sweatshirt. They have a choice of keeping it in school to keep them warm especially on Monday mornings or they are able to take it home and wear it under their coat. The hats have helped on trips. "I forgot my hat!" "Don't worry, here is one for you." I love saying those words and having cold weather items on hand to help my students out.

Once again thank you for your generosity and making my little class happy!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Goldberg

  • Kids Will Be Kids and Paper Rips

    Funded Dec 16, 2016

Thank you for all the laminating paper! I laminate everything my little ones get their hands on. All of my activities are differentiated so I have to make many hands on games in order for my students to learn.

My students know that when the laminator comes out, there is something new coming their way.

I can't wait to use the larger laminating paper to laminate my students self portraits for our graduation decorations in June. The parents will have a long lasting moments of their early childhood years.”

  • Help Us Keep Healthy and in School This Winter!

    Funded Dec 23, 2016

Thank you for your generous donations to fund our project. When my students saw the large boxes entering our classroom filled with tissues and wipes their expression was priceless. "Wow, look at all those tissues, Ms. G."

Having an abundance of tissues and Clorox wipes in the classroom has enabled my students to take care of their sniffles during our cold months.

We used the Clorox wipes to wipes down all our furniture at the beginning and end of the school day to keep the germs away! Our attendance improved greatly this winter season. Thank you again!”

  • Supplies to Finish off the School Year!

    Funded Dec 21, 2016

Thank you all for your generous donations! We loved watching the boxes of supplies delivered to

our classroom! The students love that we get new things and put them to use!

Pencils and copy paper are the supplies that go the fastest in our room. I am always printing new activities on different levels for my students. My students love new pencils and I think they hide them on purpose. I'll always give them another as long as they are producing great work!

Pretty soon we will use some paper to produce summer packets to keep my students on target during the summer. Thank you once again.”

  • Help Us Fill Our Leveled Book Bins 2

    Funded Dec 28, 2016

Thank you for the new additions to our book bins! During independent reading students are able to select books on their own reading level to help learn to read new words, build stamina and partner read with a peer.

Our bins D, E, F, are now filled with new more exciting books for the students to read independently. The students on lower reading levels are trying harder to get to the new books.

These books have given them incentives to read on a higher level. It is always exciting when one of my students yells out, "My level went up!" Thank you once again.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Goldberg

  • Help Keep My Students Warm, Dry, and Fed!

    Funded Feb 26, 2017

Thank you for your generous donations to our project! My students love watching box after box of goodies come into our room. As I unpacked this time, they were amazed that these items were actually for them!

This couldn't have come at a better time! The hats were needed during the coldest March ever. Now with the rain, the raincoats are definitely coming in handy.

The students also have access to snacks that they are able to take home! They love to be able to pick a snack they can eat later in the day while relaxing at home.

The students still can't believe this is all theirs! Thank you again!”

  • What's Inside The Box?

    Funded Aug 31, 2016

Thank you for your generous donations! We received our packages and right away I stored our new STEM games and Magnatiles in these clear storage boxes. As I placed game in each box, the students were so eager to start exploring with our new games. After each STEM games introduced, my students will be able to use any game they wish to explore and learn new science concepts. This is the best way for young children to learn big concepts, through play. The best part is that the students can independently seek out any game they please and they can learn as they have fun!”

  • Learning STEM the Hands-On Way

    Funded Apr 17, 2016

Thank you all for your your generous donations! You have made STEM learning come to life in our classroom. The students love using each game to learn many different science topics such as magnets, and creating motion chain reactions. They enjoy building bridges and using different materials to build homes. I love when they say, "Ms. Goldberg, look what I can do?" or "Ms. Goldberg, look what I noticed." I use those aha moments to have discussions about what they are learning and what they can do differently to get a different result. Thank you again!”

  • I Want To Play With The Magnatiles Too!

    Funded Jun 14, 2016

Thank you for your generous donations! My students were so excited when I unpacked the new Magna-Tiles. They couldn't believe that each table had their own set. Lately, they have been working extra hard and fast to complete their work in time for centers. This is definitely a very popular center in the classroom since each group can work with a bin of Magna-tiles. Since everyone is working with Magna-tiles at the same time, we have Magna-tile Wars, the students compete to see which group can make the tallest, widest, fanciest structure they can.

Our new Kindergarten students are intrigued that the pieces are magnetic. I can teach several topics in math and Science using these new tools. They are awesome. Thank you again!”

  • Supplies Needed To Finish The School Year

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

Thank you all for your generous donations! Not only do we get to complete the school year with an abundance of supplies, we will also be able to start the school year with all the school necessities required in first and second grade!

When all the packages arrived, the students thought it was their birthdays.

The students love having brand new pencils, markers and crayons. I have copy paper at my disposal to continue modifying my lessons as we a go along and provide my students with a variety of assignments using visuals. All the supplies are at their disposal. They can independently get to work and create beautiful artwork and complete classwork on their level. They beam with excitement when their work is posted. We are grateful beyond words.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Goldberg

I teach 12 wonderful and motivated special needs students in a Title 1 school located on the Lower East Side. I teach students in grades K, 1, and 2. They try hard to meet their personal goals as well as strive to meet the Common Core Learning Standards. Now that the third graders are faced with a standardized test next Spring, we will need more books and tools to meet their needs, With the proper tools not always available due to budget cuts, they will be able to meet and exceed their personal goals and grow into great readers, writers and mathematicians. Positive reinforcement helps my students flourish and want to continue to learn. All the skills they learn while in Early Childhood grades will support their growth as learners as they progress in school and through higher education.
