Working effectively in this diverse world starts with self-awareness. This book will help students develop self-awareness through the message it is intended to send. Students will indirectly learn how to handle bias and conflict. In addition, this book will encourage empathy, for they will witness what a kid experiences just because they look different. The ability to accept everyone despite what they look like is a trait that definitely needs to be emphasized, and starting with children is a step in the right direction. My goal as their teacher is to lead them!
