  • Sharpening Math Skills!

    Funded Jun 16, 2024

I cannot thank you enough for supporting my project! My students just love the supplies that you provided. They use them literally every day.

When they enter the classroom and they need a pencil they take a neon or pastel Ticonderoga pencil from the container that I keep in the back of the room. They especially enjoy the "monster" pencil sharpeners. I often have a line to use them, they are so popular.

I will continue to use all these great supplies. These nice pencils and erasers makes my students' attitude towards math class a positive one!

    Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

  • Getting Notebooks Organized!

    Funded Sep 13, 2021

I can't thank you enough for supporting my project. My students were so surprised and appreciative when I provided them with a new interactive notebook at the beginning of the year. They use it on a day to day basis to glue math foldables and take notes.

In addition, their notes are always organized because of the table of contents. When I ask my students what the topic of the lesson is on a specific date, they are able to tell me immediately. The table of contents keep track of their daily learning target along with their page number.

The internal folder built inside the notebook helps them as well. With this folder, my students are able to quickly place their foldables inside their notebook if they are not able to glue it in time before the bell rings.

Overall, these notebooks have help helped my students learn more effectively and make learning fun!”

  • Neat Note Taking? No Problem!

    Funded Aug 11, 2019

Thank you so much for supporting my project! It is so important for my students to be organized and these notebooks have made it so easy for them.

They were so grateful and surprised when they found out that they were going to get their very own interactive notebook that has a built in table of contents and a place for writing page numbers. Ever since they started using these notebooks, I see them getting excited about math and note taking. The notebook is also big enough for them to glue in colored foldables.

I will continue to use these notebooks. My hope is that they will take so much pride in their work that they will want to keep these notebooks at the end of the year.

    Thank you again!”

  • Showing Off Your Best Work

    Funded Sep 2, 2019

I can't thank you enough for supporting my project! My students use the "post it" chart paper on a daily basis to show off their work and solve math problems.

They were so excited when they found out that they would be able to present their work to the class. Usually they use tiny white boards, which is difficult for the whole class to see.

I will continue to use the chart paper in my classroom. They will also be writing and posting important math formals so that they can often refer back to them. It is very helpful if they are posted on the wall for everyone to see.

    Thanks again !”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Weinstein

  • Learning With a Kick of Color!

    Funded Jul 25, 2019

I can't thank you enough for helping me fund the pastel paper! From the very first day that I handed my students notes on a pink piece of paper, I could tell that they treated the notes with more care than they would with standard white paper.

For the past couple months I have been using the paper to copy important notes for my students and make foldables that they glue in their notebook. It helps keep them very organized and the math topics are easy to find. Very often I'll say, "please take out the purple paper I gave you" and they are able to locate it immediately. This makes class time more efficient, as they can locate their important notes fast.

Overall, learning has become more fun and I am excited to be able to continue using the paper for the rest of the year! Thank you again!”

  • Staying Sharp!

    Funded Sep 17, 2015

Thank you so much for your generous contributions to my project! My students use the pencils, erasers and sharpeners literally everyday to take notes and solve problems. When they ask for any of these items I am happy to finally say to them "no problem."

Ever since my students started using these supplies, I notice they are getting to work a lot faster. They no longer worry about bringing anything. When they come in my classroom they know to take a fresh pencil from the jar and get started. They especially love the "cool" sharpeners. Even students that bring their own pencils wait to sharpen them with the high quality sharpeners because they do such a great job.

I will always be thankful for your donations. Because of your generosity, my students will always be prepared for math class!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Weinstein

  • Not Just Your Typical Math Notebook!

    Funded Apr 17, 2015

Thank you so much for funding my project! You have no idea how much I appreciate your generosity. My students just love the markers, glue and construction paper. Whenever they come into my classroom they are constantly asking me, "are we going to use the supplies today?". They get so excited! Their favorite item is the scented markers. They just can't get enough of the fruit scent!

Ever since I received the supplies, my students' notebooks have come alive! They are now able to highlight important vocabulary words and make foldables and glue geometric shapes into their notebook.

In addition, they genuinely enjoy the whole process of note taking because they know it is going to be fun. Through all the supplies they are able create something special and now take a lot of pride in their notebook!

    Thanks again for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Weinstein

  • Seeing Isn't Just Believing

    Funded Jan 23, 2015

I cannot thank all of you enough for donating to my project! Now that I have a new projector, my students have been having so much fun because I am able to use the interactive white board. They comment on how bright and vivid the colors are on the screen!

Everyday my students are now engaged. The projector has enabled them to move images on the interactive white board, in addition to playing math games and watch interesting math lessons from educational websites. Math really "pops"!

My students tell me how much fun math is and how much better they understand the more difficult concepts. Visuals are without a doubt so important in mathematics. Students in my class that struggle in math are now finding it easier!

I will always be grateful to all of you!”

  • Math Concepts: Visible With Visuals

    Funded Aug 19, 2012

Thanks again for all the donations! It was because all of your generosity that I was able to receive such wonderful supplies. Supplies such as graph paper, markers and construction paper have made a great impact in the way my students learn.

In the past few months upon receiving the supplies, my students have been able to construct colorful math projects and apply mathematics to the real world. The supplies were very helpful when I taught the unit of geometry because geometry is so visual. In addition, their day to day learning was and still is more enjoyable and productive.

I cannot thank you enough for your generosity. Both my students and I sincerely appreciate it.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Weinstein

Our school has over 700 students in grade six through eight. My 7th and 8th grade students are current and former English Language Learners. My students' inexperience with the English language makes it harder for them to understand and perform in a mathematics class with increasingly abstract concepts and new, sophisticated vocabulary.
