My students all have disabilities. They range from Speech and Language Impairments and Learning Disabilities to Emotional Impairments and Autism. They attend a public high school, and as part of NCLB, students with disabilities are mandated to take part in high stakes testing. Students with disabilities have the opportunity to have the test read to them via audio DVD. The ability to expose students to different assisted technology, both while they are in high school and faced with assessments that are of the utmost importance, will help them become successful after graduating high school. This will help them to learn what modes of assistance best fit their style of learning.
