  • Switching to After School Fun

    Funded Dec 31, 2024

Thank you for your generous contributions. My students will so enjoy using this. I had talked about it with them and they became very excited. The whole idea of having a safe space to do what they love was very appealing for them. We appreciate everything you do for us.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Doyle

  • High Interest Books

    Funded Dec 26, 2015

I am so grateful for your donations to my project. It's wonderful to see that you share my vision for what reading should be to my students, and are just as excited as I am about helping them find that "Just Right" book!

I could not wait to share these new books with my students! I have students who need a springboard into reading that the I am Number Four series, or some of the graphic novels will provide for them. The excitement that this infusion of new books generated, helped in getting us on track of meeting our reading goal for this year, that every student will read 20 books. One student has already read five of the new books!

I appreciate all you have done for me and my students. Thank you again for helping to show my students that they are supported by a community of avid readers just like them!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Doyle

  • Tired of Reading the Same OLD Books

    Funded May 8, 2013

It is truly unbelievable to have my students come into class pick up their books and start reading right away. No, I have not trained them to do this. This is what they want to do because they are excited to read again. The books that you have provided my classroom have created a renewed love of reading for my students. When class is over, they are disappointed because they have to stop reading. Some have even gone to the library to borrow the book so they can continue reading it at home. When we finished LEGEND, most of my students went out and bought the sequel to it. Their writing has become so much more interesting as well. Their responses to literature have been amazing. Grades have skyrocketed in the last few weeks because they enjoy these books so much. I very much appreciate all of your donations to my classroom and other classrooms around the country. Teachers could not do it without the help of generous people like you! Thank you very much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Doyle

My students are a very diverse group, most having an Hispanic background. They are incredibly fun to teach and work extremely hard. If they do not like something, they will let you know. Sadly, I often hear how boring our book choices are. We are part of a K-8 school.
