3D My Math
Funded Nov 10, 2021Your donation has afforded my class the opportunity to explore and learn math applications with our new 3D Printer. Students' interest in math rose and their work habits improved once seeing the 3D Printer. Many students who are autistic found themselves talking all about the 3D printer and types of filament. So much I didn't even know that they have shared with the class and have become mini-experts with the device. Other students are so fascinated by what a 3D Printer can do they are excited to learn all the lessons that led to them interacting with the printer.
My students have said what is exciting is that they know they will be using the device in a math class and not an elective course. Having a 3D printer that allows my student's images to come to life and surpass a merely printed sheet of paper or 2D image but to see their objects come to life and can be held has given them a stronger interest in Math and careers in 3D Engineering.
Overall, the 3D printer will help my students learn and increase if not improve their ability to conceptualize and imagine their work especially as it pertains to Transformations, using a grid/plane, the ability to express an object in 3D on an x, y, and z plane. My students are demonstrating a willingness to want to learn and many have become curious about careers as future engineers.”

This classroom project was brought to life by #TeachHealthy with Nature Made.Dress For Success
Funded Nov 7, 2012Words cannot express the impact your donation has made on my special education classroom. Years have gone by without schools paying attention to a subgroup that is academically challenged. As a teacher it can be difficult encouraging and motivating students to reach for the stars and think of a career in sciences because they are often told what they can't be or how hard it will be for them. With schools putting a strong emphasis on school uniforms and how that helps build character. Then it must be true that a uniform can change how we perceive and act. You allowed for me to purchase a class set of student lab coats. This simple item changed how my students responded. I immediately noticed a change in their attitude and how serious they were taking the lesson. They wanted to be productive. How amazing it is, to see my students conduct lab test and apply their reasoning and critical thinking skills. Thank you for proving that dressing for success can in fact lead to student success. That they are not just words, but they are actions!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Kia Motors America and one other donor.Future CSI Agents
Funded Aug 8, 2012I want to thank you for approving the grant request for my Future CSI project. I was in desperate need of these materials and I really didn't know how I was going to achieve the success I imagined.Due to your support, I will be able to teach to students different learning modalities. Giving students more opportunities to engage in hands on activities will increase my students ability to recall scientific investigation. You have allowed for me to continue my passion towards teaching students and setting high expectations for them. Moreover, you have me the opportunity to provide lessons.”
